I don't have this product directly, but one just like it from Eufy. The removable fountain from the base is a game changer. If you guys are looking for a water fountain for your pets, get one with a removable fountain. I can't recommend them enough.

They stay cleaner longer too without the worry of the water pump getting clogged with biomatter as it uses a magnet in the base to spin the free floating propellor in the fountain to push water upwards to the spout.

When you wash it, don't lose the propellor!

Fountains aren't gimmicks for cats. Cats prefer moving water and will drink more water because of it. Better hydration is better for their health. Something in their DNA has programmed them that moving water is better than still water. Before I got a fountain my cat would constantly splash the water everywhere with his paw before drinking it because cats don't like drinking from still water. It would make a mess and I'd come home to an empty bowl with water all over the floor. The fountain has resolved the issue.

Good price but... It uses nonstandard square filter which is expensive and hard to find ...

Agreed it's very important to replicate the fresh natural spring water that dogs and cats would have out in the wild.
Ah, yes, "in the wild." Where my dog wouldn't survive for 6 minutes.

I noticed my 6 month old cat going in and out of the litter box and looking stressed. Immediately thought he was dehydrated. Bought a stainless steel one on Amazon and it changed everything. I would recommend not getting plastic and if you do clean it often especially the little crevices. The steel one I have doesn't have any crevices and looks like it would outlive both cats and myself.
Which one do you have?

It works great for small dogs and encourages them to drink because water is constant recirculating. If you have a medium sized dog, or anything bigger than a big maine coon, it might not make sense.
I have a small dog rescue that doesn't trust the magic of running water. This would not encourage her to drink.

Just fill a bowl....be done with it people. Don't be stupid and buy this gimmick.

Cats naturally don't drink much water. In nature they get most of their water from the prey they eat.

Problem is, domestic cats are fed either dry food only, or a combo of wet & dry food.

So most cats are constantly on the verge of dehydration. And that causes tons of health issues.

Anything a cat owner can do to make their cats drink even 1 drop more water, is a necessity and will save them money in the long run, by avoiding costly vet bills.

My cat loves to tip over her water bowls; we tried getting her a fountain for her to drink from and she still manages to knock it over due to her curiosity. Is this one good for preventing a cat from knocking it over? If not, are there any that would be good for a cat that isn't easy to knock over?

I also have a cat that would constantly tip over her water bowls. (She does that scratching thing on the ground/bowl itself before drinking.)

This [amazon.com] is the fountain I have, and it's impossible for a cat to knock over.

Guess you haven't been to a country overrun by stray dogs and cats. They are surprisingly hearty. "Life finds a way" LOL

Leaks water on ground. Enjoy
The water leaks appear to be from improper placement of the filter.

I think they were saying that their dog wouldn't survive, not that no dogs would survive. It is obviously not true that dogs can't survive in the wild, so it is strange that you assumed that is what they meant.

I have 3 different fountains for my cats, this one is much louder than than the other ones. I'm not sure if mine is defective or something, but for them to mention it being quiet as much as they do in the description, it's not by comparison.
