Great knives, but even at 30% off Benchmade's prices are ridiculous.

Yes, Benchmade prices have gotten stupid. However, it's a good opportunity to get a great knife at a fair price. For the SD bargain hunters who are happy with DHgate junk (still works, but not a quality product) - this isn't for you. If you want a Benchmade without feeling like you've been robbed, this is for you.

I remember thinking the same, but time will tell. Chinese knock offs aren't made of the same quality metals for the blades, body or scales. I bought some benchmade gold class knock offs, some zero tolerance knock offs before. Won't keep an edge. Id put the blade quality up there with the husky brand at home depot.

Yes real Benchmades are expensive, but I've had some for 15+ years that are still working flawlessly today.

As for losing them, that's not a problem I have, it's always attached to my pocket if not being used throughout the day so I don't lose them.

Yea nice knives but super expensive. And the knock-offs from DHgate are dang near 90% of the way there for a fraction of the cost. Makes it harder and harder to justify as Benchmade keeps raising their prices. I've started selling off my genuine Benchmade knives. The thought of loosing a $150-280 knife just isn't acceptable to me anymore.

Been carrying the 940 for around 15 years now but it might be time to upgrade to the 940-2 😁

Why are you people even in this thread? You clearly are not the target users/collectors.

Get a life, let people spend their money how they wish. If they believe in the product vs. alternatives, let them be.

Just picked up a Griptilian and a Osborne 940 green. I had a Spyderco Para3 a few years earlier that I lost due to TSA and my thoughtlessness. I told myself I'd never buy an expensive knife again after that but here we are..!

So out of the knives which one is the most worth it?
Another vote for the Griptilian or Mini Griptilian. Both are awesome. I also recommend the Doug Ritter version of the Griptilian, but you can only find those used now.

I currently carry a Bugout and love it. The Bugout does not have full-length liners, and people call them "cheap feeling" due to the flex in the grip. I bought a carbon-fiber version of the Bugout that has scales that are more rigid to mitigate the flex.

The 940 is a bit too heavy for my tastes.

Ever since Hogue came out with the Deka V2 and the Ritter, and Kershaw dropped the Bel Air, Benchmade almost became irrelevant for American made knives. I own a ton of knives, and Benchmade have made some good knives, but agree their prices have went crazy even before the crazy Immunity and Narrows price hikes. If I go American it's Hogue and Kershaw for now, for the more budget/non-custom type knives. I have been leaning more towards quality Chinese brands like Kunwu, Reate, Maxace, Piratech and others, but been buying more Giantmouse, Asher Knives and any Vox stuff lately.

The internet said 14C28N is the best budget steel for pocket knives.

Is that cope or red pilled?
