the reason why this one is no good is because it doesn't come with free lifetime cloud storage. there are equivalents that will give you free lifetime cloud storage that renews every 7 days, meaning you get 7 days worth of cloud storage 24 hours a day and then after the week is up it resets to a new 7-Day period, and then you get all that for life for free. please don't ask me what the products are or the brands cuz I don't know there are so many of them but there are some of them that will give you this with the camera for free and the price is near the same of this. this one gives you a 30 day free trial of cloud storage only, then you have to pay.

no it's not as simple as that. the largest SD card that will fit in these won't record 1080 and above resolution for more than two to three days before the memory is full. you need the cloud storage service to record seven contiguous days without interruption if you want to record at 1080P and above. the highest resolution on this one is 2K and you won't be able to record more than one and a half days of 24-hour recording with even the largest SD card that this can take. so as I said it's not as easy as what you said plus you have to pay money for the SD card anyway which is much more than the actual camera, and then even doing so it will fall way short.

I'm calling BS that any free cloud service will allow you to record 24/7 (for 7 days) at 1080 for free.

some will. that is a fact because I did all of the homework and it took me hours to figure it all out. I came to the conclusion that even with the best SD card that I would not be able to use the camera for anything more than motion recording at anything above 1080p because it's simply won't go for more than the day and a half at resolutions higher than that and the only alternative to record more than that at a decent resolution is to have a cloud service but most of them force you to pay a lot of money for even a couple of days per week. after searching a ton of different Chinese manufacturers of equivalent cameras I found that there were a few that offer you 7 days of recording 24 hours a day at whatever resolution you want. you simply cannot do this with an maximum SD card that the camera is rated for. it was a deal breaker for me and I decided to not buy one at that point and to continue to wait for the memory size of the SD cards that these things can take to increase over time as the technology gets better and the specs get better because I didn't want to upload my camera to some unknown Chinese company that's probably affiliated with the CCP. and the more I thought about why a company would give seven days of 24-hour service for free for a lifetime on a cheap little camera, the more it became paranoid and suspect that it probably was affiliated with the CCP. so I actually never bought anything and I'm still waiting for the max SD memory specs of these things to increase substantially as time goes on and then I will pull the trigger on one when I can get 7 Days of recording on an SD card 24 hours a day at at least 1080p because again right now all the SD card is good for with the max that the camera can take is motion detecting recording. you can say that this is all BS all you want but I already did all the leg work and you'll find out the same if you do the same which you probably won't.
