Other wise gorgeous if you use it for gaming only.

I also use it for work, but compared to the LG counterpart, this one is severely lacking imo. In LG you can have 2 sources PiP or PbP. On this one you can't have 2 PC at the same time.
You can't switch inputs on the fly. The remote has Netflix, Amazon and all the BS buttons but no dedicated Input button. In order to change the input you need a bunch of click in the menu. Usb-c is also huge inconvenience, that most monitors in that price range have it. I mitigate the lack of it with extra usb-c docking station... If you work and go in meetings being able to connect and disconnect your laptop with single cable is huge convenience.
Also no display port via usb-c, so you need to use the dp or HDMI port.
I am not saying you can't use it for work, I am just saying it's lacking many convenient features the usual work monitors would have. This monitor is clearly designed for gaming, where you plug your PC once and you don't change it. Netflix and Smart apps look bad imo, with huge black stripes on both sides, so kinda wasted space. Why buy 49" to watch Netflix if you are seeing it on 27" space anyway?!
And lastly I paid around $800, which imo was a fair price for what it offers, half a year ago. I personally don't see $1100 as a slick deal.
1-To use split screen (multiview) you must be connected to the Internet..ok? Why?
2-split screen is not a 1 click operation. Multiple clicks and setup. Oh nice you can name inputs that makes things easy. Well guess what if you unplug a port and plug it in, it gets renamed back to "pc". So while trying to split screen you are clicking multiple inputs labeled "pc".
3-remote is useless for me, no dedicated input button and a bunch of others like netflix that I never used. Only buttons I used was power and home.
4-Random black screens (lasting 10 seconds) while gaming (using original wires @240hz) no issues with other monitors using my pc.
Issues stayed with latest firmware updates. Only customer for this that makes sense to me is a content creator with 1 pc. Gaming I had issues (black screens) daily and work I had issues with split screens (multiview) daily.
After using for 5 months I sold it. Never again!

Not everyone needs a monitor that caters to the niche multi-input, split-screen setup you were going for. And frankly, who really uses all those bells and whistles on the remote anyway? I just need the thing to turn on and off.
So while your review is a valuable cautionary tale for the select few who want to use this monitor the way you did, for the rest of us, the Samsung Odyssey is still a solid choice. Just saying!
