For comparison, I had to buy 0 degree bag to be comfortable in 30 degree tent camping. But of course, preferences will vary.

Also depends on how many layers you like to sleep in…I prefer getting dressed for the next day and sleeping in it (in colder weather). You can also use a lighter sleeping bag that way.
OTOH, I know people who want to sleep in boxers and an undershirt, so you definitely want a 0-degree bag there!
It is actually pretty big, I ordered one two weeks ago when it was $22. My idea is similar to others, use as an outer layer when it gets colder. I live in a warm climate so I can never justify a 0* bag. A couple 30*~50* bags will do the trick around here.
