Why is it only giving me the option of store pickup (which isn't available in my area) or scheduled delivery?

Why don't I get a shipping option?

To be honest I have been doing my own lawn from a long time and I learned from the best of the best, my Father. This stuff is over rated and over priced, also shrinkflation has taken 3k sq ft out of the bag and price has increased. These synthetic feeds nowadays are just pure garbage. Their compensation is smaller granules which I highly recommend using a mask of some sort if you're really going to get this.

My Dad, and now I, swear by Organic feeds like Milorgrante 6-4-0. This applied a few days to a week after using Hi-Yield Atrazine Weed Killer will work better wonders than this garbage ever will. For $5-10 more you can get a much better and lasting product.

Which one do you put down first & how long do you have to wait to use the other (I don't want to over fertilize and burn the grass)?
Don't use this garbage. See my post above. 15+ years of doing my own lawn and I wouldn't tell my worst enemy to buy this for their yard.

Thanks. This is good information.

I started new lawn last year on new built home (builder put garbage as top layer, it wasn't even topsoil). I ordered 10cu ft for 6000 sq ft lawn area, with 50/50 topsoil/compost. Used less quantitu than seed starter fert suggested by seed company and the seeds took off with what left after heavy rain and non stopping birds eating.

This year I need to overseed, seed some spots. There are some weeds. I handpull weeds after rainy day and spot treat some where it was posion ivy.

What's the best strategy to get the ferts added to soil? I will be sending soil for testing but not sure if I need to get any specific ferts or anything else based on recommendations (they may say add n or p or k in %). I see earthworms, so i think I might have got lucky with the topsoil/compost vendor.

My grass is so sparse. Lawn is mostly dirt now. I ran a scarifier on it a few weeks ago, pulling up years worth of dead material, knowing I would be removing most of it. I wonder what's the best product to use, short of getting sod

Don't be alarmed your situation is pretty typical for new builds nowadays.

What I would suggest is spot treating with the Atrazine (as long as your grass is St. Augustine or Centipede) in a 1gal hand spray mixer or a 4gal backback sprayer and spot treat the weeds unless they are already spread thoughout the entire yard, then I recommend doing the whole yard with the Atrazine and a backpack sprayer. Do this in the morning and water the following morning lightly. Wait about 3-5 days and spread some Milorganite down throughout the entire yard over the topsoil/compost you have already put down. When you mow make sure you don't bag the clippings for the next few mows as it will recycle the above treatment. Should last you months.

Pretty sure he's returning the weed and feed and keeping the free fert.
Won't the free 2nd item show on the receipt though?

Exactly. Any recommendations for St. Aug?
Pretty I got a similar deal at Lowes this weekend with Southern Turf Builder. You would have to be crazy to not have a St. Augustine grass variant around here.

Isn't Atrazine really bad for ground water and the environment in general?

I forgot to mention, I am in SE Michigan and used mostly tall fescue blend from a local seed company.

I will check the herbicide. I bought Preen and a spray stuff but I haven't used anything yet as kids play bare foot and I thought I may need to lay more seeds.

my southern lawn has a lot of native weeds but looks ok from the road when it's cut at least once a week. think i've heard it called a farmers lawn...if it grows you whack it down. i've grown to like that it's maintenance free....no chemicals, no watering, no anything other than weekly cuts 7 months out of the year.

Milorganite is great.

Also, very thoughtful of you to want your worst enemy to have a nice lawn.
