I bought this and even for $5 it wasn't worth it. Lots of better ones on Amazon available. I usually make 2 cups of coffee at a time and the grinds were spilling all over the place.
Ask any real coffee aficiano, and they will tell you the grinder, by far, is more important than the espresso machine or coffee maker. Chopper grinders chop very unevenly. They make large and tiny pieces. The pieces are shaped like splinters, bringing another level of unevenness. The tips of the splinters and the tiny pieces over extract bringing bitterness. The larger sizes and ends under extracts which gives a grassy flavor. So you have the whole spectrum of flavors; that's not a good thing. It also wastes coffee because it doesn't extract it all. Chopping grinders also do not partially crush the pieces like burr grinders do.

Expect to pay a lot for a grinder, be it for coffee or espresso. Just get the right on on sale. Know basic facts, like an espresso grinder is not necessarily going to make a good grind for coffee and a coffee grinder is certainly not going to make good grinds for espresso.

My advice is start researching the in and outs of a good grinder so you're ready when you see one on Slickdeals. If you get a good serviceable grinder you canhave it for 15 years easy. If you get a grinder at a good price it's excellent for even people who don't drink coffee much. As for this deal, whatever. It's not hard to enjoy even meh coffee. I have a barely-good-enough coffee grinder and I couldn't imagine having one any worse. That would be horrible. On the other hand I can enjoy some so-called Bad Coffee. Like the coffee at the car dealership in those funny machines I enjoy that coffee even if it's weird in a fetish way.
Good luck.
Thanks! Got one as a spice/herb grinder.

I prefer a nice burr instead
i use these for spice grinding. i've noticed that most of my pre-ground spices have diminished in flavor significantly. now i just buy the seeds and grind into powder in 5 seconds flat.

This thing looks so small even in their promotional video on youtube it seems that fits 12 beans of coffee: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJXfOctZba4

the fact that Bodum would have the nerve to make and sell an absolute shit tier type of coffee grinder is beyond me. Granted, it can be used to break up other things, but coffee? Maybe for people who have no tastebuds.

Seconded. Grinding your beans yourself only leads to worse results if you're going to use a blade grinder. A Krups Precision grinder at $50 is the bare bare minimum for it to be (debatably) worth your time. Oxo has a good one for $100 and Baratza has the great entry level Encore for $150. I'm cheap as hell but I learned my lesson paying $20 for a blade grinder which ended up being $20 down the drain.

How big is the grinding container? And does it grinds the spices well?

I wonder if they actually made it or just licensed their name and logo (which they do quite often) to a company producing an inferior coffee grinder.

I use this Bodum grinder at work and use it with the Clever Coffee Brewer. With the paper filter, it brews great coffee. At home, I have a baratza grinder…but at work, this Bodum grinder is convenient! Don't sleep on Bodum grinder and Clever Coffee brewer!

This is not a grinder. It's a cutter. You're better off buying pre-ground.

In the beginning, I was buying coffee beans then grinding them at the store, there was a coffee grinder there. It wasn't the best but better than the el cheapo one I had at that time. Eventually I bought a better entry level grinder then after 6 years, got a niche zero. As someone else said it previously, makes a world of difference grinding the coffee yourself. This one here on sale, it's not that good. Instead of buying that, I would recommend to buy ground coffee till you can afford something entry level that is decent. Look into capresso or baratza or breville. Either of those are a good start.

The Bodum Electric Grinder seems to have mixed reviews, but I decided to give it a shot. The design is modern and fits well with my kitchen aesthetics. It grinds coffee beans efficiently, but I've noticed a slight inconsistency in grind size at times.

I thought that exact same thing. Reads just like the Amazon ai bot that summarizes reviews.

I usually use 4 tablespoons of various seeds at a time. it can smash anything, dried hot chili peppers that i've broken into pieces, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, peppercorns, etc. it grinds to a fine powder if i leave it on for 10 seconds. you have to wipe it down after use because of the oils released by the seeds.

Looks like you nailed it. That was it's first comment. This was it's second comment in another thread:

The Targus CitySmart Backpack has been a decent purchase for me. The gray color is versatile, and the size fits my 15.6" laptop perfectly. The checkpoint-friendly feature is convenient, although I've noticed some wear on the zippers after a few months of use. The padding on the shoulder straps could be improved for added comfort during long commutes. Overall, it's a functional backpack, but there are some minor drawbacks to consider.
