I got the 2280 version of this in 2tb. I copied 2 games from the OS drive to the sn770 drive and the speed was consistently around 50mbs during the copy, is this normal? Seems terrible to me. Each game was around 55gb in size.

The speed is going to be based on the source as much as the destination.

Source is a NVME sk hynix pcie gen4, more than capable. I also copied the same game files within the SN770 to a different folder on the drive, and transfer rate was still abysmal. Ran a smart test, no problems. I know this is dram-less, and I understand slow-downs when writing many small files within a game folder, but a slow-down this big appears unusual.

Yes, my hynix is limited to the 980 pros I have. It takes me only a few minutes to transfer. It only takes like 2 mins for me to transfer 100 gigs
I would check your drivers to make sure your north and south bridge drivers are installed. Bios updates for mobo and the drives

I'll start with a sfcscan, reinstall drivers, and do a fresh windows install as a last resort. It's a lenovo legion 5 (2023) with the sn770 installed in the secondary m.2 slot. 50gb copy took me 15mins, hahaha.

How are your Sk Hynix and SN770 installed? Is it via a M.2 NVME PCIe slots or via external drives? To get the full speed from both drives, both need to be installed on m.2 NVME PCIe slots.

Do you have any other machines you can test the drive in?
I have a 2 tb sn740 (oem version of the drive) installed to a steam deck (gen3 connector) and I am getting 160mbps when transferring to the drive over network.

I could test it with an external enclosure, but I would be limited to usb 3.2 gen 2 speeds. I ran a long smart test and no problems found. Likewise, I am considering returning and trying another. I'll test with more files today.
