According to their policy, you can request unlock after 60 days https://www.att.com/support/artic...KM1262649/ but I'd try the unlock steps mentioned in the post first to unlock it right away.

Mostly for the latter. Postpaid plans in general don't strike me as a good deal most of the time and it looks like AT&T is partially subsidizing this phone just to rope you onto one.

I do see that Google.Fi is still doing a $700 off Pixel 8/8 Pro deal if that's more up your alley. They use T-Mobile towers.
