No time machine, but this was just on sale NEW for $90 more at B&H so it is likely to go on sale for around that price again. Asurion plan is $70 for 3 years. Just FYI for anyone considering this.
No, but as a courtesy, we don't want to click on the post and then realize it is a refurbished item, not a brand new if the price is too good for a brand new item.
No these have not been $500 new ever before.

Was there any way to check availability, or did you just find it?
You can go to bestbuy.com and look for "open box" availability around you. It sorts by condition, which can vary in price. The best part about open box is the price is a bit cheaper and the warranty is lower priced than new, too. If you happen to get a bad one, you can return it too. The bad new is you have to pick up from the store, no delivery.

I picked an open box one up at Best Buy for this price. It only had 10hrs of operation and came with a full warranty. Then I purchased 5yr of the Geek Squad warranty for $125 (covers burn in).

I think it's better to buy an open box OLED from Best Buy because it comes with the full manufacturer warranty and it's easy to return.
The 5 year geek squad open box warranty is $249, on a condition type of $964 Fair condition TV(the cheapest priced tv). How were you able to purchase a 5-year warranty for $125? Can you provide the details so that we can replicate the $125 warranty deal?

Received my 42" today and it's great so far. Got a certified high speed HDMI cable and it's hooked up to my MacBook pro. Took a little to realize that 4k 120hz wasn't doing HDR. I backed it off to 100hz and the HDR option appeared again in the display settings. Turned it on and it's so nice. I guess I'll have to turn off the dock and the menu bars.

Got my 42" today too, Box was retaped but tv appears brand new, even remote with stand screws was sealed. Tv showed 1 hour I think. There's a tiny dent on the back of tv. Very pleased with it. If I knew I was going to get a new tv, I would've ordered 55" too.

TLDR: Really happy with picture, disappointed with sluggish hardware. Will not consider LG to replace main TV and will look for Samsung OLED instead.

I got to use the tv for a few days and picture is of course amazing. It has bluetooth and you can connect earbuds/headphones to it to not make noise if you watch late at night. Connected it to Legion 7i HDMI port and it worked flawlessly at 4k 120hz. Very happy with this TV, especially because it's small enough to be a PC monitor.

However, there's one negative that bugs me quite a bit and I don't think I'll be buying LG for my main TV in future. It's very laggy. It's either huge latency in their remote, or they're using bottom of the barrel components for their tv or both, but it feels like I'm using a pc from 20 years ago. Considering how expensive this TV is, I'm very disappointed at how sluggish it is. Each button press takes about half a second to react. Even just trying to type in a search word on virtual keyboard and pressing left/right racing through keys, it lags a few spots behind. Pressing settings button on remote, quick settings menu takes about a second to pop up. Then pressing further on a cog to go into detailed settings, that menu takes about 2 seconds to load and you actually get a spinning circle in middle of the screen while it loads in the menu. Ridiculous, this thing is running on pentium from 20 years ago.

In comparison, our 4 year old 65" Samsung lcd is instantaneous. There's 0 latency while using remote/virtual keyboard, and tv's UI is buttery smooth. Unless TVs change drastically, my main tv is definitely going to be a Samsung OLED in the future.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I updated to latest firmware, in case that's what's causing this tv to be so sluggish.
