Eh. Not as good as the $400 sale it was on 1-2 months ago.
I got one of these to replace a 27" 1440p ips 144hz gsync 2018 monitor for $450 and I think it's great for around that price. The HDR is incredible in games that make native use of it, Cyberpunk really pops during play in ways that I didn't expect, and autoHDR is pretty cool as well. I couldn't pass it up with the 27-32", 1440p-2160p resolution, edge lit-1196 zone FALD backlight, 1050:1-19,138:1 contrast ratio, and 109ppi-130ppi dot pitch for text clarity upgrades for the money. I drive it with my RTX 3070, which does pretty well all things considered.

The biggest drawbacks in my opinion are the viewing angle color shift and the reflection handling, but weighed against the other benefits, I'm totally satisfied. If this monitor was not curved, it would be worse on its viewing angles, so I'd call it necessary, but I wish that it's vertical color shift was less noticeable on the desktop because it's so large that I can see the difference from my midpoint to the top and bottom, and the glossy coating can add to that a little bit.

I leave the monitor in auto HDR mode most of the time and I can tell when it's doing its thing on explorer windows and stuff, but its still totally usable in that mode. You can turn it off in around 5 seconds in the OSD menu. Oh yeah, and the stand is bafflingly wobbly when jarred or using the menu. Anyway, for the money I don't think this can be beat and it gives me the HDR quality I want for my gaming into the future as these various panel technologies advance. Ask me anything.

note: I have not seen any sign of flickering as others are mentioning in this thread. none.

Seems like a good deal, but every Samsung product I have bought had a design flaw of one kind or another. Check rtings — they say this monitor flickers at low frame rates and has scanline issues at 240hz

I'm holding off for this exact reason. I've never been completely happy with a Samsung monitor or TV.

How is the picture quality compared to your previous IPS screen?

Fantastic. The color volume is wider, the contrast ratio is immensely better, text and UI elements are sharper, HDR enabled brightness that peaks around 1000 nits is really punchy compared to something like 400 nits max previously, black uniformity is incredibly better due to the full array local dimming versus edge lit backlight so dark scenes dont have that crappy uneven IPS glow. All while being physically larger and therefore more immersive. No regrets.

here's my previous monitor, which was $550 back in 2018 when I bought it: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/re...1hu-bmiprz

I'm probably also going to stick with nvidia, but its great to have the option to use Adaptive sync on either amd or them with this monitor, compared to my old one which was gsync only.

I know that OLED can't be beat in other ways that are important; like instantaneous pixel response, actually infinite contrast due to per-pixel dimming versus 1196 zones, and viewing angles. OLED also has drawbacks like potential for burn in, inferior sub-pixel arrangements for text and UI elements for PC use (the latest panel tech out this year has some improvements here though, lower peak brightness which makes HDR less impactful at times, and very high prices.

I picked this up for $400 two months ago and let me tell you what an amazing screen it is. Not sure what all the complaint about the scan lines are. The display is gorgeous, I bought a MSI 4k OLED (Newest Model) and sold it to a buddy because this display goes toe to toe with it.

I was an early adopter of this monitor. I returned it for the horrible flickering issue. 7950x3d/4090.

Deal is dead. If it wasn't OOS yesterday I likely would have grabbed one. Back up to $1299
