I'm interested in a cadence sensor, but my computer already measures speed and distance with GPS. Is getting data from the wheels more accurate than GPS?

Yes, actual wheel speed measurement will always be more accurate. As long as you initialize the wheel speed sensor with the correct wheel circumference. This sensor is a combo sensor and measures wheel speed as well as crank speed aka cadence.
