I can't believe red's gotten cheaper. I just go it yesterday, and can confirm that you can make a single cup of hot coffee as well if you want to. It doesn't need to be iced coffee.

I bought the black one. Used it today. Very poor quality and the cheapest possible plastics which I don't feel safe making coffee in it.

I got mine in and love it. It makes really excellent iced coffee with no hassle and is simple to clean. Sure it is cheaply made but I am not taking it backpacking.

This Gourmia branded one is identical to the Mr. Coffee except for slightly different cosmetics...all the functional parts are the same, same factory I am sure.

The Mr. Coffee has over 10,000 user reviews on AMX with 85% being 4-5 stars. A quick scan shows none of the reviews indicate death or disease so if it causes your death it will not be immediate.
