nah, normal price is 60-70. still a good deal, but slickdeals auto fills the "normal price" when they polish up the deal for the front page.

note for everyone... walkers are really weird with their units... they are very vague on which ones are stereo sound and which are mono. if you need to know where sound is coming from, this is a HUGE feature. these muffs are 100% mono presentation. it takes sound from all directions and broadcasts them to each ear equally.

this is still a good deal, but for many uses, spending the extra $30 on stereo sound is worth it.

Its hearing protection not headphones. They have active mics to pick up sounds like voices, footsteps, etc while blocking higher db sounds like engines and gunshots

Is it worth upgrading from the non-BT version of the headphones? I use the 3.5mm jack on my current version to listen to music on my phone. However, I'm thinking for the future, my next phone probably won't have a 3.5mm jack. Anyone have experience with these?

The BT on my pair has a hard time staying connected, the phone it has to be in my front pocket to maintain connection. If I put my phone in my back pocket, it doesn't work well at all.

Good to know. Will probably steer clear then, does not sound like a good BT experience. Thanks!

I agree. I have some of the Walkers that Sam's was closing out, and I don't like them for hunting. You can't tell what direction anything is coming from.
I was pleasantly surprised at how good these Savior headphones are [amazon.com]. I bought them when they were $17.99 on sale a couple of weeks ago, and they are every bit as good as my Howard Leight set, but they're more comfortable because of the gel pads.

some of the walkers are great. their quad alphas i got for $60 and they are directional and have great sound/comfort and low white noise which is key for spending all day with them on.

the howard leight impacts are a great budget option, probably similar to the savior's..

personally since i hunt with them, I ended up splurging and going with peltor sport 500s which are a whole other ballgame in sound quality. super low white noise, great amplification and the sound dampening is really neat. doesn't completely cut out, it just lowers the volume, so its great for having conversations while there are also loud noises. but thats a whole other ballgame at $120, plus $20 gell inserts. ill never go back though. for the amount of time i wear them, it was money well spent.

i bought these the other week when they were on sale. amazon was nice enough to lower cost for me.. i bought them for the kids when we go to monster trucks/speedway. however i bought the razors last year for my gun range set and they work great. i have no complaints.

Same here. BT is practically worthless and can't even handle being a few feet away.

My only gripe is I haven't found a way to turn off the the active mic feedback while still being able to use the Bluetooth for sound.

I'm wondering if the folks who say they're normally $60-$80 are referring to the non-bluetooth version. Those say that they're $80 list price, and are currently $33. I have the non-bluetooth ones and they're awesome.
