Heads up, you can't upgrade to the Pro remote with a screen, if you wanted.

Did you read the manual? It recommends DJI charger or QC 2.0/PD 2.0 chargers but on their support page it's more open. "DJI Mini 2 SE does not have special requirements for the charger. You can use an ordinary USB charger. DJI Mini 2 SE supports QC and USB PD fast-charging protocols, and supports up to 29 W of input power."

I was wrong. It was a Motorola charger and it never failed to charge my phone plus quite a few other devices over the last 3+ years of using it so I just figured it would work fine to charge the battery in the drone. I plugged it in and it was charging fine so i left it charge over night and when I woke up the next day it was blinking the over voltage detected light and will not power on any more. I just wanted to say something so other people know to use dji chargers or they may have the same problem i had and I know it recommends the dji charger in the manual but any USB device manufacturer will "recommend" their brand of charger to charge their devices. I've never had a problem using that USB charger before charging all kinds of devices with it (2 different phones, ps4, ps5, xbox controllers, Bluetooth speakers, action cameras, to name a few and it never killed any of those batteries so i figured it would be fine). There is nothing wrong with the charger. It just didn't work to charge the drones battery since it overcharged the 2 batteries i got, or i was just incredibly unlucky and received 2 defective batteries from dji. Either way, lesson learned and after a bit of googling, it seems it is not that uncommon and can be fixed by buying some other hardware device, but not gonna waste my time with that. I will just get the right charger and a new battery and chalk it up as a loss. It was a dji refurbished mini 2 se, same as in this deal.
Which Motorola charger specifically? Turbopower 10, 15, 20, or 30? That could help narrow down the incompatibility. They are technically QC 2.0/3.0 rebranded. Have you tried leaving the batteries in the drone? They will auto discharge to 93% in a day and even lower after 9 days. You might have 2 perfectly good batteries. Also they recommend unplugging the charger once fully charged. Obviously I get you have other stuff to do but leaving it overnight probably isn't recommended.
I appreciate you leaving this comment. I just wanna get down to the bottom of the incompatibility so everyone can benefit.
Edit: never mind the section below … I just realized you said it bricked your drone. I'd still question the non-DJI charger theory though.
Can you still fly your drone with the battery or is it grounded with that message? Also, does it say over-voltage or over-current? I saw a thread about some users with plus batteries getting an over-current message when flying with plus batteries at full speed. That seems to have something to do with the props needing to spin faster due to the increased weight and pulling more current than expected. I could also see something like that happening with a drone carrying a little extra payload in case you've added any accessories like landing gear, etc. Anyway … just a thought. I'd take the whole "non-DJI charger" theory with a grain of salt.
One of the discussions of the "battery over-current" warning …

Are you saying every time you launch or just the first time?
