This is a common sale price (check SD history for "paver" and you'll see).

Note, these are "overlay pavers", which require a concrete pad as a base according to installation instructions.

My guess is without concrete as a base, they will break. Even with concrete as a base, lots of reviews complain of them chipping and cracking, so replacing them is an ongoing problem.

Unless someone can correct me on the above details, I'd pass.

This would be one thing that has no impact on inflation: it has the same price as five years ago.

Interesting! What area do you live in?

I understand a sand base, but what's a sand/clay base? Is that clay dirt that's got sand mixed in to hold it level? Like amending clay soil in your local area?

I believe if you have a properly prepared base you will be ok as long as its not for a driveway or something that would see concentrated loads. Base material should be used, not just gravel. Then it should be compacted properly with a plate compactor.

The Basalite Holland pavers in Mendocino (Red/Charcoal blend) or Tan/Brown are also on sale. I think they measure 7.87 in. L x 3.94 in. W x 2.36 and seem to have good reviews. Maybe add these to the list too.

How long do these sales usually last? Will it still be available on the weekend?

These make great platforms for step ups or calf extensions in DIY gyms.

Nope, I did it for my sister house and mine. You just need to level with sand on the bottom, use the paver edge lock, then apply locking sands at the end. We are on our 5th year and they still lock tightly.

I bought these when they were this price around 2 years ago (probably more).
I dug out dirt then put down paver sand (less than recommended). It's holding strong.

Some of mine have chipped and has become dull looking.
