The Kamado Joe Classic II is being marked down at select Home Depot stores. In my area, there are 3 available in Tustin, CA and 2 left in East Brea, CA at the clearance price of $650 before tax. There were 3 in the East Brea store, but I just took one home last night (at the clearance price).
Here's how you can identify whether there are clearance items at Home Depot (without having to go in-person store-by-store):
1) On the Home Depot web-site, on the top left of the page, click the My Store icon to set what your default store is.
2) Change stores in your vicinity one by one to see what the in-store price is (and inventory) by clicking "shop this store."
3) When you go back to the window for the product: (
https://www.homedepot.com/p/Kamad.../304582863), the page will likely just show the full retail online price ($1,299).
4) Keep repeating this by changing the default store for every HD in your area.
5) If you are lucky and it's marked down in a store near you, you'll be able to see an "See In-Store Clearance Price" box under the online price. That means it's marked down in the store that you're browsing. You'll also be able to see in-store inventory.
6) You can then go to the store and it should ring up at the clearance price shown online. Unfortunately, you can't order online at the clearance price.
Note: I had to change my default store about 15-20 times before I started to get some hits, but this can work if you're willing to put into the time to follow these steps. You may have to change zip codes in the "find another store" box to broaden your search and look at neighboring areas.
Good luck!

For example, using the tool to look around Tustin or Brea (near me) the Nearby Stores function won't actually show there are units in stock. But if you change the default browsing store to Brea or Tustin as described in the original post, it will show availability at the clearance price.
It looks like you're just going to have to randomly select stores around you to actually see if it's on clearance.
