The Kamado Joe Classic II is being marked down at select Home Depot stores. In my area, there are 3 available in Tustin, CA and 2 left in East Brea, CA at the clearance price of $650 before tax. There were 3 in the East Brea store, but I just took one home last night (at the clearance price).

Here's how you can identify whether there are clearance items at Home Depot (without having to go in-person store-by-store):

1) On the Home Depot web-site, on the top left of the page, click the My Store icon to set what your default store is.
2) Change stores in your vicinity one by one to see what the in-store price is (and inventory) by clicking "shop this store."
3) When you go back to the window for the product: (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Kamad.../304582863), the page will likely just show the full retail online price ($1,299).
4) Keep repeating this by changing the default store for every HD in your area.
5) If you are lucky and it's marked down in a store near you, you'll be able to see an "See In-Store Clearance Price" box under the online price. That means it's marked down in the store that you're browsing. You'll also be able to see in-store inventory.
6) You can then go to the store and it should ring up at the clearance price shown online. Unfortunately, you can't order online at the clearance price.

Note: I had to change my default store about 15-20 times before I started to get some hits, but this can work if you're willing to put into the time to follow these steps. You may have to change zip codes in the "find another store" box to broaden your search and look at neighboring areas.

Good luck!

If their site is accurate you can see exactly which stores are close to help narrow your search. I'm currently checking all around me, but only if it shows in stock.
Unfortunately using the "Show In Stock at Nearby Stores" function on the Home Depot to try to narrow the search to only the stores that have it stock does not work and you will only see the stores where it's available at full retail price. They've filtered that tool to NOT show availability on clearance items, only on products you can do in-store pickup at the full retail price.

For example, using the tool to look around Tustin or Brea (near me) the Nearby Stores function won't actually show there are units in stock. But if you change the default browsing store to Brea or Tustin as described in the original post, it will show availability at the clearance price.

It looks like you're just going to have to randomly select stores around you to actually see if it's on clearance.

Worked exactly as described, found and got the last one at the San Jose, CA - Monterey Hwy store. Thank you for posting!

You can buy it at the store and have them assemble it and deliver it to you for free.

Oh no no no. This comes on a pallet and weighs a dainty 238 lbs. Have a friend help with assembly, it helps to get it in the cradle and to get the "cap" on the ceramic fire box segments.

Perhaps, no complaints though! The tag had a price of $780, I asked if they would honor the online clearance price of $650 but their system showed a price of $450! For that price I grabbed the two that they had and got out of there before they could change their mind!!!

Not sure if this is only a west coast clearance but can anyone post a screenshot of how the clearance price shows. Even better from their phone app
