Who the hell advertises a 60 Hz monitor as a "gaming" monitor? This seems more like a productivity/media monitor looking at the specs: 4K, IPS, HDR10, low blue light, adjustable height....

Honestly looks like a pretty great monitor for remote work; I just wouldn't call it a gaming monitor.

You do realize that not all games need high framerates right?

Lol just about every 4K monitor on the market is only 60Hz unless your paying close to the $400 mark and up to over $1K pricing. People still game even FPS at 60Hz without any issue, its not the monitor its you if you suck.

I've been using this monitor for several years now, bought it when it was first released. It's my first 4K monitor, so loading games I had been playing for years looked a WHOLE LOT better, but I suppose you could say that about any 4K monitor? No complaints. I like the built in crosshair option for FPS games. If I was going to criticize one thing, I would say the built-in speakers are pretty weak/quiet, but I never use them so it doesn't bother me at all.

Use case for a 4k IPS computer monitor in general is productivity with maybe some gaming in the evenings and weekends. I'm running a 1440p@165Hz for that use case, and I've been waiting for 4k@144Hz to hit lower, but all I've been playing is Elden Ring (locked to 60 fps) and Civ 6, so maybe 4k@60hz would be fine (with the 1440p@165Hz off to the side). Though I hear even at 60fps, frame delivery can be better on a higher refresh rate monitors.

We can take the "that's not a gaming monitor" thing further and say its not a gaming monitor if its not OLED and at least 120Hz.

Nearly every monitor made today is at least 60Hz. It's the bare minimum. Out of all the specs you can have on a monitor, framerate is the single most important one for gaming. Obviously you can play games on this thing and it'll be fine if you don't care about your framerate. I'm just pointing out that it's pretty dishonest for Asus to call this a "gaming" monitor and completely leave out the framerate in the title.

I got two of these monitors at this price last fall. One had a major backlight bleed issue throughout, and the other was great. I sent back the bad one and still use the good one as my primary work monitor. I banned myself from gaming years ago and moved to a warm climate area so I could enjoy the outdoors year round instead. I've never had any issues with the 60hz refresh rate. I use it at 125% scaling and sit with my eyes between 15 and 20" from the screen. I love the clarity from the pixel density.

Before this I had tried a 27" Dell 1440p for a few weeks, and I had used a 25" 1440p before that. 1440p at 27" was an awful combination. The larger pixel size made them look too blurry. I'm considering buying another one of these monitors at this price, but have been contemplating a 4k 32" curved monitor for a little more real estate and so the far edges are a bit easier to see. Not sure how I feel about 4k 32" curved monitors being VA instead of IPS though. Also, the pixels would be 0.189mm vs 0.165mm.

On use a 1440p, 60hz monitor for gaming and was wondering if I would see a big difference going to 120hz or above? Like is the difference really that much better? I dont play fast twitch games per se, lots of RPG and slower paced games, Alan Wake 2 right now.
