Was looking for a French door fridge and local Costco had one on clearance. Got the last one in my store that wasn't a floor model. They don't sell it on Costco.com anymore.

Model: RF28T5001SR

Other stores (Best Buy, HD etc) have it on sale for $1299.00
Has ice maker in freezer drawer but no water dispenser.

Also, no tax because it's energy efficient. Not sure if that's state-specific or across the US.

Costco's appliances also come with 2 yr warranty instead of standard 1 yr so that's an added bonus. They don't deliver so pickup only if you can find one.

I had one of their awful fridges and it has soured me on Samsung brand generally.

"Many of the complaints involve Samsung French-door refrigerators, which received a subpar rating for predicted reliability and a poor rating for owner satisfaction in CR's survey results."

I had this for the last 10 years. The ice maker sucks and it stopped using it after the wiring inside got tangled . It does last a long time if you dont need an ice maker.

To borrow a quote from another thread, "Friends don't let friends buy Samsung." Their ranges are ok, but that's about all. They *will* break, and finding techs is frustrating. There were only 2 people that would service them in Santa Barbara County and they were typically booked out for months. I spent more on repairs in 4 years compared to replacing it after the first issue (ice maker). Then a sensor, then the back panel.

Same here. 2013 model - ice maker leaks so I turned it off. Works otherwise.

horrible model, constant build up of ice in the back of the fridge (top section). The only way is to take out everything, remove the plastic panel and witness the magnificent samsung iceberg trying to destroying your food. when we left the ice build up, it does melt enough and drip down to the bottom pan flooding the whole section. This machine is the epitome of capitalism where they want to constantly replace your purchase which I refused to let these scumsung win so I constantly did the clean up and fixes myself...

I been having this fridge for 8 years. Like many have said, it leaks. It probably started leaking last 2 years. The leak happens on the top section underneath the bottom drawer. I use a wet/dry vacuum once a month, takes me like 5 minutes to do. I know people will not like what I'm about to say, but for $800, if my fridge was to give out today. I would probably buy the same one. Would I recommend it? probably not.

Bought one of these for 200 bucks used with a defrost issue that wasn't disclosed at the time of sale but I was able to fix it for $40 worth of parts and has been great as a garage fridge....they def have flaws but parts are cheap if you know how to troubleshoot em. I now have 2 Samsung fridges, The main kitchen fridge is almost 8 years old now and still working very well. They have various issues from seals going bad to defrost heater issues. Costco's generous return policy makes this an easier decision

you have the same exact issue as I had with my fridge! its not a leak. Your defrosting element has gone bad which is a very common problem with samsung fridges. When this happens, frost forms around the Evaporator and will eventually lead to cooling issues ....I was able to fix this for around $40 (for my model specifically) which is a RF217ACPN. There are youtube videos on how to fix this. This issue also causes the drain tube to freeze over and not let melted water drain down to the bellpan where the heat from the compressor boils it off...so it then leaks to the bottom under the drawers....

If you're buying a fridge, hard to go against Whirlpool or Maytag
