For someone coming from the Android world with zero experience with iPhones, how good is this deal? Any gotchas to worry about? Thank you.
For about 70-$90 more you can get a 13 pro. Biggest benefit (for some) is the 120hz display (ProMotion as Apple calls it)
Depending on what Android phone you're coming from you might notice that.
On Amazon, no gotchas if you get either the 12 or 13, Apple supports phones for a long time and they are usually speedy. The Amazon renewed comes with a good return period in case you get a crappy one.
If you are using this as primary phone. Might be worthwhile going for the 13 pro

I don't think those are sold and shipped from Amazon though. Do you have a link by any chance that is from Amazon?

Agree with this. 13 pro is way better than 12 pro.
I would skip this 12 pro deal.

Bought 11 pro for son last year and in terms of quality the phone was in perfect shape. The battery I believe was at 88%. I'd buy another if a good price and needed it. I agree 13 pro is the better deal for the smaller bump and 120.
I'll never understand why people will pay for this. It's a 3 year old model and a refurb at that. The Apple community needs to stop promoting these ridiculous prices that Apple sets
