Here's a trick I learned. When you are screwing it back together, rotate backwards first slowly. Once you feel the screw 'drop', then you know you are aligned back in the original threads. Then screw it back in. Works everytime without any extra damage to the threads,

Are you talking about this? https://slickdeals.net/f/16585175-micro-center-25-off-100-or-more-new-customers

Isn't that only for new customers? And Isn't there a limit of one coupon per customer? How can you buy multiple gift cards for $75?
Make other accounts using other phone numbers. How you get extra numbers is a different story.

I got a refurb at gamestore a few months ago. 64 gb model. It ended up being 260 after pro discount or whatever. I ended up buying a 1tb SD card for like 25$ on sale and I've been really happy. I know the OLED model is the one to get but if you just wanna get your toes wet, picking up one of these cheap refurbs is great
Where did you find a 1tb microsd card for $25

Why wasn't this available months ago when I got the G Cloud!?! (The sticks SUCK and make it totally useless for FPS games)
Maybe OLED refurbs aren't too far off🤞
Yea for FPS games the G Cloud isn't the best, but the battery life and nice display size make up for it for my use case since Im only streaming from my gaming PC in my house. That was why I went with the G Cloud over the Deck. It's also lighter and nicer to hold IMO.

When I play Helldivers 2 I mainly play docked to a TV (occasionally handheld), did you notice any bump in performance for the game?
Slight performance boost on my OLED - slightly better refresh rate scaling (45hz is a good fps limit that scales to the 90hz of the oled display) - and really terrific battery life with demanding games like HD2

Wish it was smaller. That thing is like half of a 13" laptop. You think twice before you take it anywhere

I play EA FC2024 (FIFA 2024) only most of my free time. Anyone played with this Asus handheld console or STEMDECK? Any issues with FC2024? Thanks in advance.
I'll admit I have tried this specific game; however, from what I found it looks like EA's anti cheat doesn't play well with Linux and the game isn't working unless you install Windows on it. If all you're wanting to play is FC2024, I'd go for the ASUS.

I wouldn't say it's easy for first timers. It can be easily damaged esp on the lcd units bc disassembly was hard. I figured it out and doing it safely but not without spending half a day watching video and writing a long commentary on the exact positions of those J-hooks holding the two halves together. The software for SSD also threw me off the way Valve zipped it up and I didn't figure out that file format until later. It had a filename that I thought worked as is but required to be uncompressed.
Were you using a butter knife and hammer? You flip the deck into the case it comes in, take out the 8 screws, pop one screw out of the SSD drive, swap the shield and reassemble. It's incredibly easy for anyone that has attempted to build legos. It took 15 minutes, and another 15 to download the software on a USBC drive and the flash it. The directions are simple. Im sorry, but it's so easy.

Valve's reinstall instructions would help you.
Its like 4 screws to remove the ssd. Not sure why it took you half a day to watch a 12min youtube video

now that the oled version is finally uses non-self tapping screws.. it's worth waiting for that. self tapping screws are so trash for longevity.. esp if you plan to open it

Haven't tried it, but seems like EA's latest anti-cheat isn't working with SteamOS. You could always install Windows, but if it were me and that's all you want to play, look for the ROG Ally.
It's the best micro SD toaster hands down/up
