Klipsch changed after Paul Klipsch left. I'd vote for Focal.
I vote for KEF. The KEF LS50 Meta and/or R3 are going to be my endgame when I build my home theater system. By all accounts that I've seen the KEFs are superior speakers to Klipsch.

If you like muffled sound buy Magnats and Klipsch. Prefer clarity? Then buy Focal speakers with an SVS sub.
I have some older in wall klipsch speakers that are pretty stellar. Muffled? Not at all. Perhaps your experience is on some klipsch speakers somebody dropped and broke them that's why they sounded bad to you.
Is Focal paying to shill on slickdeals? There are a dozen of speaker manufacturers that sell speakers in that price range that are as good or better.
It almost seems the opposite with Klipsch, which seem to be shilled on here constantly. I've not heard of these speakers in this deal but if I were in the market I'd do some YouTube and internet research to see what folks say about them.
Is the price good for this? Like, too good to pass, or you will get more for what you are paying or you are getting what you are paying? lol.. I am asking as my wife's dad is in love with my sound system, but is nowhere near to being able to afford it. I would like to gift this for his birthday this month. I want to say he's not just an old fart, he's been an audiophile all his life, but i know he would appreciate something decent for him to watch movies and listen to music.
So Magnat has been making speakers in Germany for over 50 years. They are new to the US market (last 5 years or so.)
There are reviews from stereo and audio magazines and sites in Europe.
Overall they are good mid range speakers designed and built in the more traditional way.
Magnat of the 90s prob not the same as 2020s
Magnat made the drivers Dahlquist used in their DQ-M series of monitors. They were remarkable - the 5" mid would track a square wave almost perfectly. Cast AL frame, edge-wound voice coils and well controlled/dampened cones.
This being said I looked at Magnat's website and they look to be every-bit leading edge, but prob not as good, as KEF.
