S23+ will get one(?) more year of updates I think. But seeing as it is a back up and you may not touch it, I would get the S22+. People poo poo on the S22+ battery life but again, its a back up. I am getting the S22+ for $200 for my work phone.

That's a generic Verizon unlock policy for all their phones but in this case, if u pay the phone off ($9.98*36= $359.28), Verizon would unlock the device sooner. Follow the guidelines shared on n earlier comments.

Anyone else struggling to login to Verizon through the Walmart website? I click upgrade my line, type in my information, and then it tells me it failed to retrieve my account data. Very unfortunate, because I'd love to purchase the phone.

I went to purchase the phone via Walmart's website, and it states that my line can't be upgraded and I would need to purchase it for 699$. I called Verizon (as Walmart's website said to) and they confirmed my line's eligible for upgrade. My device's been paid off for >2 years. The other phone on my account with the same payoff date's listed as eligible for upgrade, but not mine. Any idea what's causing this to happen?

No it will be through Verizon. The concept is Verizon bills you monthly for the phone to keep you on their service. Call CS or go to a corporate VZW store to pay off.

I had no issues ordering the device via my laptop. Walmart site redirected me to VZW for account setup.
