TravelPro is known to be a pretty good brand. you should review the dimensions just to be sure bc the carry on is slightly bigger than the standard domestic size but I've never had a problem with mine flying on the major airlines.

you are not buying from Costco but the brand directly with a special discount, so the normal Costco return policy does not apply and you would not be getting the 2% benefit through the executive membership or citi card .

I like mines. it's definitely not as flimsy as the Samsonite and Delsey sets I saw in Costco, even though they're also made of Polycarb. My only concern when I bought it was the carry on size. Most airlines will says their carry on limits are 22x14x9, and this one is 23x14.5x9.5, but I've taken it on the major airlines (America, Delta, Southwest and Alaska), and haven't had any problems putting it in the overhead bin.

If you primarily travel internationally, this will most likely be too big for most airlines.

Make sure you read their warranty terms and conditions very carefully for this Roundtrip product series (https://travelpro.com/pages/trave...E-warranty).

Luggage companies, as good as some are, still require you to personally bring damaged luggage to a limited number of repair facilities across the country, or have it shipped at your own expense to them to asses whether the damage is "covered" before they possibly replace or repair and ship it back to you.

If you live far from a repair center, it's expensive to ship such a large item to them to do that assessment, and even then, they might reject your claim and have you pay for them to ship it back to you unrepaired.

TravelPro's warranty for the Roundtrip product line DOES include ONE YEAR of "worry-free" damage claims (which they pay for shipping of the suitcase to/from their repair centers, and covers damages caused by mishandling of an airline) BUT ONLY if you register for their extended warranty within 120 days of purchase. Again, this extended warranty is ONLY valid for ONE YEAR. After that, airline-caused damages are NOT covered, AND you have to get the suitcase to them at your own expense to assess for warranty applicability/deniability for repairs at their discretion.

Since this deal is through TravelPro and not sold directly by Costco (as some previous members mentioned already), Costco's near-unlimited return policy does NOT apply to this deal, so you have to deal everything through TravelPro.

I personally would rather buy a suitcase through Costco direct, so that if/when it does break, I can take it back to ANY Costco and get it exchanged or refunded, virtually with no time limitation since it's considered a durable good.

Even if you don't buy from Costco, you can buy second-rate suitcases at discount retail stores like Ross for the same price it would be to ship a TravelPro suitcase to and from their repair centers. For the price of a TravelPro, you could buy 2 - 3 sets from Ross.

I've been bitten before by these so-called "lifetime warranties" from luggage companies, and they are far more hollow than they would have you believe, chocked full of asterisks and fine print limitations.

Are these good? Can Costco next items be returned back to Costco?

sorry, I put the wrong photo up, but you might be able to do an exchange. I ordered the white last time and was able to exchange it for the green within the 30 days. but the silver one is showing as sold out, so it'll depending if it's back in stock within the 30 days.

Great info. I heard this is a reputable and reliable brand, but I still prefer to buy them from Costco in case they break. My concern is how long those wheels will last.

Really tired of these plastic clamshell suitcases. Fabric is very durable and easily expands plus allows for easy packing (as opposed to packing 2 sides and sandwiching close. That being said, if you like hard plastic suitcases, travelpro is a great brand and it being from Costco is a no brainer

I used to think plastic ones were crud but it's annoying having to remeasure every time you add something and expand a fabric one - some airlines are supposedly sticklers about carry on size, hence probably why this set is on sale

How does buying through Costco Next show up on a credit card statement? I have the AMEX promotion and am seriously considering this.

Costco does not accept AMEX whether online or in store.

Edit: this is a pass-thru type of purchase, so I am not sure if the lack of acceptance of AMEX applies here.

AMEX worked for me. Not sure if the promo applies, since it is technically a 3rd party site.

AMEX offer does not pop. Had it in my card, ordered through Costco next, and the Amex offer did not apply. Still a good deal on quality luggage!
