Philips 5400 Series Fully Automatic Espresso Machine - LatteGo x1
Extra Philips LatteGo Milk System x1
Philips Original Descaler for Espresso Machines x2
Philips AquaClean Water Filter x6
I got this last Nov for around the same price from the same Phillips website, and we LOVE this thing. We have probably run about 13 lbs of beans through it, zero problems, easy to use, easy/fast to clean, and all of the drinks are great. I can do better foam and better shots manually, but that is in the realm of diminishing returns... and the convenience makes all the difference between one or two drinks a day vs. one or two a week (if that). I went for this one because of 4 user profiles (we LOVE this feature, to be able to have everyone in the house have their own dialed in drink settings easy to access), where lesser models only have 2 I think. IIRC this was the only model that had the extra shot feature... where it will actually grind, charge, and extract one shot, and then it will empty the used puck, grind again, charge, and extract the second shot all automatically. I have extra shot on all of my drinks... that one feature alone is now a deal breaker... if I ever get another machine, it MUST do the second shot like this (vs. more grounds and a single extraction).
This wasn't cheap, but compared to superautos available say 5-10 years ago (or less) it is way cheaper, and less complicated / easier to clean & fix, and it does everything all in one go. The drinks might be slightly less good, but our fam is more than happy with this thing.
I have this machine. It's great and very convenient. Start up time is about a minute or so. You just pick the drink you want, load in the milk jug (if applicable), start it, and you get coffee in another minute or so.
The grinder on the machine (and probably similar models) is kind of loud. I would see if you can see some videos of it on YouTube to see how loud it is if something like that could be a deal breaker for you.
They haven't released a new version in some time. They released a new version of the 3200 which has an ice coffee feature while this one does not. So I imagine that they're either going to refresh this version to add Ice Coffee or will likely add a new version.
They should make the water container larger on these. I have the 3200 and love it, but the most annoying part is refilling the water every other day.

This is very tempting. I got my wife the 'new' 3200 series a couple Christmas' ago and we love it. But we don't really drink any cold coffee, so that is kind of wasted on us. Would definitely be nice to be able to have multiple profiles and more options for drinks and extra shots.
Just wanted to share my experience. I bought this full price from William Sonoma during the pandemic and have used it every single day to date. 2 years now? The only maintenance required is dumping out grounds and rinsing the bottom tray. Don't even need to dish wash anything. The aquacleaner filter it came with last a year and I'm on 10% for my second filter. I only put purified water from Costco into it. My main routine is a double espresso, my partner enjoys the milk frother and her lattes. The milk frother requires daily maintenance (which is why I don't use it lol)

Agree, but on the other hand, it is pretty big, I am not sure I would want this thing to be any bigger! My last machine had a tank you had to remove from the rear, this one being able to be pulled out from the front is a great design! That said... you aren't the only one, there are some tutorials online to install a waterline from an RO system (plenty of kind of cheap undersink/countertop options) to your tank along with a float switch... so the water tank basically always stays full. Since my machines isn't anywhere close to a water source... to much work for me!

If you mean 2020, it's been like 4 years . You should probably pull the brew group and rinse it with hot water (grounds can get all up in there), or even better run a brew group clean cycle with a tablet (you can get the cleaning tablets cheap on Amazon):
For almost $900 I try and take care of it... I do a brew group cleaning every bag or two of the 2.2lb bags of beans that we use, for sure if I am changing the type of beans (probably paranoid, but want to make sure that the experience with the new coffee isn't screwed up by a dirty coffee maker).
EDIT: We keep the frother in the fridge full of milk, only need to rinse every week or two and that is super easy because no hoses. The trick is to run the frother cleaning cycle after every session, which is easier than it sounds, it is like automatic for me now... I don't even have to be awake to deal with it. Worth it for that lovely capp foam!
I bought this on the 13th of this month and till now it's not delivered and no tracking number, called customer service twice and no shipping confirmation yet.

Now I'm glad I posted. I never even knew there was a door behind the water basin! It was dirty af lol. Was able to clean it in 15 mins with hot water spray. And yeah it's actually been like 3 years now since I got it 😂 time flies

Oh wow. I ordered it yesterday at 4pm and called this morning at 9am when they opened to cancel because I was thinking of getting a Breville Barista Touch Impress instead and they said it's shipping already and they can't cancel it and to return or refuse delivery if I don't want it.
Now I'm not sure if I want this super automatic or the semi auto breville 😂 at least this one has a 30 day no questions return policy.
I borderline abuse this thing with how frequently I use it. 2 years later and still running like a champ. Just do the weekly cleaning and quarterly greasing.
