Weak also implies low power consumption. I'm planning to use this to run a few services (Proxmox as OS, Uptime Kuma, Ntfy, Wireguard) as a server in my networking closet and the price couldn't be beat, especially since I have some spare ram and ssd that was unused.

Was either this or was Raspberry Pi 5, and this ended up a better cost/performance for me after considering the extra accessories I'd need for the PI.
N100 Passmark score is 5555, that's basically an Intel 7th gen i5, minus 60w. For low powered mini machine it's not bad at all. Sure someone could buy a dell Optiplex ultra small form factor pc but they would be missing out on some modern features and considerably more power consumption

Is it better to get the N200 variant of this instead? Better graphics so for emulation or gaming will be better.

what do you mean by proxmos as os? I run proxmos on my HP Z800 workstation. Doesnt proxmos require capable machines to create vms?
Proxmox itself doesn't require much performance, I ran it on a J4125 machine and it works pretty well. Just that you can't ran demanding client VMs

You don't necessarily need VMs. Linux containers (LXC) does the job of handling most things.

I have only recently started looking into mini PCs, does anyone know if this would be powerful enough to support a Plex server? My intent would be to support at least 2 1080p streams + 1 4K stream simultaneously.

Having two Ethernet ports makes it suitable for a soft router application.

N100 mini-PCs are frequently recommended on the Plex subreddit. They can transcode multiple 4K streams (if you have Plex Pass to allow hardware transcoding) and they just sip power.

The N100 is a nice little chip, roughly equivalent to a quad-core Skylake but at a fraction of the power. I'd buy one if I didn't already have a mini-ITX N100. Also, MSI released a version without fans a few months ago, so they're likely phasing out this version (with fans). https://www.fanlesstech.com/2024/...t-fan.html

The model without a fan has an S in the name:
Cubi N ADL S
