I'll tell you tomorrow . Bought one. Figure $20 couldn't hurt. My mattress is fairly old anyway.

So I just got it about an hour ago. It says to let it roll out and expand for a day or two but honestly it looks like the shape is already normal and fully expanded. I haven't put my mattress cover or sheets on it yet. I have laid on it. It's nothing amazing but for $20 it makes my decade old mattress feel much better. I'm sure it pales in comparison to a high dollar topper but if you're just looking to add some extra comfort this seems worth it.

are these "cooling gel" toppers actually cool? Or just cool for a little bit then get warm like any other memory foam?

3 inches of padding is the bare minimum for some people. I had an uncomfortable Walmart futon and doubled up 2 inch foam and it was still a pain.

Anyone have this?

I wouldn't expect too much from the price, although the price is what makes it tempting. It's a lot cheaper than the $300 latex topper I was considering 😙

I have extremely fond memories of my college mattress topper. It made the crappiest mattresses amazing and I still think my best sleeping setup yet. Is this worth it to buy to put on top of my mattress for that coziness again or is it wasted on a mattress I already consider comfy?

Does this come with any cover or is it to be placed under the mattress cover?

No cover.

I had something similar a few years ago. It's definitely worth getting. It turned my old, very uncomfortable mattress into a very comfortable mattress.

Grabbed a king one. Worth a shot. We need a new mattress but I don't want to pay for one yet, will try this.

Cheap memory foam is usually far too airy to actually do anything - it just fully compresses under way less than normal body weight. But this is a Serta at least, so maybe it's worth trying at this price.

I've gotten 8 good years out of a sub-$300 (in 2016, not now) Zinus mattress and have been thinking about replacing it but maybe I'll spend this twenty bucks first and see what this does.

It's not a substitution for a latex topper, but can be a great addition. My setup is 3 layer and it works so good for me.
Base is a very bare bones 8 inch firm matress, the medium firm 3-inch latex and then very similar 2 inch foam topper. I have great sleep every night after added this.
Just latex topper alone wasn't that comfortable

Yep, just a short time in a cool room. Foam mattresses in general are good insulators, so they will not cool you. Latex is "less hot" than Memory Foam. A soft foam topper will generally make things only warmer.
Sheets and mattress protectors/pads can make a difference too.

I tried a 3" version of this (different brand) a few years ago and it was way too hot for me because I sunk in too much. I just bought this one in 2" so hopefully it won't be too thick. It's replacing one of those old egg crate (non memory foam) toppers from many years ago. Hopefully it will be a good replacement for that.

They also make a non-cooling memory foam topper for about $10 less. That implies that the cooling gel probably does something.
