Reposting for visibility, as searching for 'SIM' on SL doesn't show this unless you go many pages deep.
It's an MVNO that can work on the T-Mobile or Sprint network
$2.50 a month or $30 year for a backup, ghost, emergency, or kids phone is the absolute cheapest I can find in the US

A few things to know.
1. the plan only lasts 360 days, not a year.
2. renew price $30 does not include tax and fee. the tax and fee is about $1 or $2 for me.
3. If you forget to renew it when time is up, you have about 60 days to keep your number. There is an reactive fee of $1 if you forgot to renew the plan. This $1 is not a tax, not a yearly fee. It costs you $1 if you totally forget to renew the plan after 30 days.
You may want to link a credit card on RedPocket account so you get auto renew.
When I know I will have friends / family fly into US, I mail this SIM card out. I tell them to put this SIM card into their unlocked phone and call me when their flight lands at an airport. It saves $$ and make everything simple.

You will have to set up a different account for the watch in your app
I was able to find the web page https://www.redpocket.c
Extra question.
This plan can be used as some kind of verification.
Can I find out the real identity of the "user"?
For example, credit card or government id.me or something like that, when you need to use the phone to verify the ID against the bill?
thanks
But this is a prepaid phone service, there is no monthly/yearly bill in pdf form that you can download/print out.
I am using this on samsung watch. Just buy thus plan, activate it and then convert to esim. It's easy to add plan on samsung watch you find it on google.

This is still better than USmobile for an occasional use phone right?
I had the same issue with my phone. Support kept having me reset the network and apn settings but we could never get it to work properly. I needed the ability to send/receive pics and group chat and support was no help at all. I ended up cancelling the service and switching to mint mobile and had no issues after that. Waste of time and money dealing with RP, in my case. If you have no issues, they are very affordable. Good luck on solving your problem.
The missed calls thing is annoying
I don't believe this is possible. Apple watch only supports a fixed list of carrier and red pocket is not one of them: https://www.apple.com/watch/cellular/
RP needs some data for the LTE connection. When I ran out of data, I couldn't use talk and text even when there were still minutes and plenty of messages.
