I called and was transferred to a "centralized" tire & battery center representative. She checked my tire size and placed an order for me that I will pay for on my scheduled appointment on 5/3. She made the appointment for me, everything was pretty smooth. Highly recommend that approach.

For me, the Sam's deal saves me over $100 out the door on either the Pirelli P7 A/S Plus 3 (great tires) or the Goodyear Eagle Touring (okay tires). I say great vs okay because of the tread life rating - Pirelli being 70k vs Goodyear being 50k. Totals come to around $700 for Pirelli vs $590 for the Goodyear. 235/45R18 tires.
Imo the new Pirelli tires have great reviews and are completed redesigned, tread and all, so I will be spending the extra $100 especially since the tire rating is rated for a lifespan 29% longer and the price is only 15% higher. Doing the math in the long run you'd spend a little more upfront, but save that money over the life of tire replacements with the Pirelli for a much higher reviewed tire. Pirelli tires made in Mexico and Goodyear tires made in Thailand if that matters too.
Rule of thumb I've learned:
Sam's has a great loss prevention team and if you would have filed a claim/complaint with them you would have found out. They will pay to resurface all of your rims as well as refunding you the cost of the tires you just purchased from them. You should have filled a complaint and I think your experience would have been much different. Sure it sometimes is a hassle, but the savings from damage here is immaculate. Discount Tires wouldn't do that for ya, trust me I know. They have damaged multiple sets of wheels across different cars of mine and I had NO compensation....
I think that discount offers the same thing.
I don't think that's any different than Sam's or am I wrong here.
Dtc has free pro rated road hazard and so is Sam's? Sam's isn't non pro rated
I just looked up Walmart plus and it's pro rated too.
pretty sure you still get free pro rated road hazard at dtc. it's in their pricing page on line
The real value in these (versus having them installed elsewhere) is free rotation, etc which they'll do while you're shopping there anyway. Makes a difference in longevity if you're doing it regularly.

"Road Hazard Protection* - Expands the Manufacturer's workmanship / materials warranty to include tire failure caused by road hazard incurred in normal driving conditions (e.g., a cut, snag, bruise, impact break or puncture, whether repairable or not). In the event a replacement tire is needed Tire Installation Package charges are applicable. All other terms and conditions of the workmanship / materials warranty are applicable."
And you pay $80-100 more for it depending on the tires you are buying. Just stop with this nonsense for real.

I'm jealous. Stealership tries to charge me $100 for a rotation even though they're already doing a road force balance on my dually so I just rotating them myself while I'm doing an oil change.
The only slight difference is the way Discount Tire handles giving you a refund to rebuy the same tire or keep the money versus Sam's replacing the tire directly itself. Also, with Sam's your warranty starts over for that covered tire the day it's replaced.
edit - Discount Tires also charges you state fees and a disposal fee which Sam's does not.
Again, just stop.
