Remember, discount tire will price match both Sam's and Costco. Even the free installation. They have the same road hazard protection. Though you have the option to purchase even better protection. Always get it done at discount tire. You'll get better service and incredibly quicker. You'll be done before even Sam's or Costco sees your car.

Also, if you're going to use this deal, you should call your local store and get things scheduled for the weekend of 5/3 - 5/5.

I called and was transferred to a "centralized" tire & battery center representative. She checked my tire size and placed an order for me that I will pay for on my scheduled appointment on 5/3. She made the appointment for me, everything was pretty smooth. Highly recommend that approach.

That's how Sam's is now. They have an overseas call center setting up the appointments. Sometimes you might struggle understanding the person on the other side of the world, but I think it's better than the Tire Center employees never answering the phone at the store.

One thing that might matter (I'm not sure) if you are one of those slick people like me that change their email to get the discount on membership every year your tire warranty may be only valid with the email that you used when you purchased the tires. Citation may be needed if they still roll this way.
I've never had a problem with them pulling up old tire info at Sam's and I change memberships every year for at least the past 10 years. They can search by name.

Why price match discount tire and forfeit the included warranty, free flat repair, install, roadside and rotation/balance offered by costco or sams? Doesn't DT sell all of those Benefits as post sale add ons
Yeah this is my issue with Discount Tire. They will price match the entire quote, but that is a load of BS because you end up having to buy the tire certificates for around $20-25 more per tire from them when it's included at Sam's...

For me, the Sam's deal saves me over $100 out the door on either the Pirelli P7 A/S Plus 3 (great tires) or the Goodyear Eagle Touring (okay tires). I say great vs okay because of the tread life rating - Pirelli being 70k vs Goodyear being 50k. Totals come to around $700 for Pirelli vs $590 for the Goodyear. 235/45R18 tires.

Imo the new Pirelli tires have great reviews and are completed redesigned, tread and all, so I will be spending the extra $100 especially since the tire rating is rated for a lifespan 29% longer and the price is only 15% higher. Doing the math in the long run you'd spend a little more upfront, but save that money over the life of tire replacements with the Pirelli for a much higher reviewed tire. Pirelli tires made in Mexico and Goodyear tires made in Thailand if that matters too.

Why discount tire is better than Costco?
Discount Tire isn't necessarily better than Costco or Sam's, these people are just speaking from preference. Imo you don't have to pay for the tire certificates from Costco and Sam's which makes those a better better than DT. Speaking somewhere around 15-20% better deal...

3/3 visits between two different clubs, every time I came back with damage to my rims & hubcaps. If you care at all about your wheels, it's not worth the small financial savings and awkward waiting area to get tires from Sam's. Ymmv but mine was horrendous the one time I reupped both our cars and went in for a rotation on one of them.
I've been to some of the best shops and almost all big name tire shops, they all make mistakes man.

Rule of thumb I've learned:
  1. take pictures of each of your rims right before they pull it into the bay. (let them watch you, so you set the expectations off right without saying a word to them).
  2. inspect the rims once they have installed your new tires and BEFORE you pull away

Sam's has a great loss prevention team and if you would have filed a claim/complaint with them you would have found out. They will pay to resurface all of your rims as well as refunding you the cost of the tires you just purchased from them. You should have filled a complaint and I think your experience would have been much different. Sure it sometimes is a hassle, but the savings from damage here is immaculate. Discount Tires wouldn't do that for ya, trust me I know. They have damaged multiple sets of wheels across different cars of mine and I had NO compensation....

Am I reading the sams thing right that the road hazard is pro rated?
I think that discount offers the same thing.
I don't think that's any different than Sam's or am I wrong here.

Dtc has free pro rated road hazard and so is Sam's? Sam's isn't non pro rated

I just looked up Walmart plus and it's pro rated too.

pretty sure you still get free pro rated road hazard at dtc. it's in their pricing page on line

Can anyone confirm this is a good deal
Matters what tires you want. For anything but Pirelli/Goodyear, its the same price as they've been at Costco for the last month or two. But the $100 off for both those brands is pretty solid.

The real value in these (versus having them installed elsewhere) is free rotation, etc which they'll do while you're shopping there anyway. Makes a difference in longevity if you're doing it regularly.

All of that is included. Though, you can also purchase a warranty that is even better than what Sam's or Costco offers. But you'll get better and incredibly quicker service at DT.

The order I placed showed the discount and free installation on checkout. But, the order summary under my account is showing full price with 80 dollar installation 😭. Anyone see the same?
Same here. Discount on tire price and free installation showed in cart. But confirmation shows regular price plus $80 install.

Stop being "that guy". The warranty isn't any better than the replacement you'd get from the road hazard protection from Sam's or Costco.

And you pay $80-100 more for it depending on the tires you are buying. Just stop with this nonsense for real.

The additional warranty is indeed better. The road hazard protection isn't any better and the same.

This alone will save you close to $40 a year as my car dealership charges $20 for tire rotation during oil change assuming two oil changes per year.

I'm jealous. Stealership tries to charge me $100 for a rotation even though they're already doing a road force balance on my dually so I just rotating them myself while I'm doing an oil change.

Do you understand what same means? lol. There is no "additional" warranty included from Discount Tires, none. They're exactly the same - Sam's and Discount Tire. Unless you want to start laying facts about these baseless claims, the fact remains that it costs you +$80-100 more from Discount Tires for the same protection you get from Sam's. Both require tires to be beyond 3/32" of tread depth and within 3 years of purchase.

The only slight difference is the way Discount Tire handles giving you a refund to rebuy the same tire or keep the money versus Sam's replacing the tire directly itself. Also, with Sam's your warranty starts over for that covered tire the day it's replaced.

edit - Discount Tires also charges you state fees and a disposal fee which Sam's does not.

Again, just stop.

You have trouble reading. They call them tire certificates, which are an additional optional fee and go beyond what Sam's and Costco offer. And the fact remains it doesn't cost an additional $80-100 more to get the same protection. $80-$100 gets you better protection. You don't have to do that and can choose to stick with the same additional protection Sam's and Costco has. It's like you worked at Discount Tire and they fired you. Do something more productive with your life than camping a forum and spreading misinformation
