Would buy them to use with my ez bar but read reviews they are very oily and have a strong rubber odor. No go for me in my apartment.

I wonder if baking them in some summer direct sunlight for several days would help.

The weights I got from Costco 4 years ago had an incredibly strong rubber odor to them. I literally had to keep them outside for a month to remove the smell as my kids would complain even when I kept them in the garage to air out. But 4 years later the smell is long long gone and no issues at all

Hmmm... The box I just lifted felt heavier.. Then I checked the box and they sent me some fake 45's instead of the 2x 25lb.


EDIT: Confirmed by weighing the box. It's 70lb which means they definitely sent me a pair of 35's. Lol unless they actually sent me 2x 25's and 20lb of protection in the packaging lol which I highly doubt.

I have 320lb worth of these exact weights. They do heavily smell for 3-4 weeks after opening, after that only if you get real close. I have had no issues with oily plates at all. Maybe if they are keep in high heat environments, but in normal temps, no issues.
