If you set the tab that way and you reset the tab sometime later , do you need to follow the same steps to activate the tab again?

Did anyone else's account get deactivated? I have an account from 3/7 and I'm no longer able to log in. The phone shows no connection. I remember reading somewhere Metro removes accounts after a certain number of days. The weird thing is I have another account that is opened at that time and I'm still able to log into it.

Yes that is what I am doing, after setup I just remove the SIM card since I dont get service at my address anyway. I am using these tablets as live webcam viewers, playing my PS5 with Remote Play and watching TV with YouTube TV when my wife hogs the living room TV.

Can someone explain to me what's the advantage of not inserting/activating the SIM? Aren't most people going to just cancel the SIM (by not paying) in a month anyways?

After 2 months, the account & number will be deleted.

I think it's some of the bloat that comes with inserting the sim as it forces you to restart and install apps/software. If you don't insert the sim though, you run the risk of not being able to unlock. The other metro thread also have people not being able to unlock so this seems like a gamble in itself.

If your only using as wifi and never intend to insert a sim no problems if you don't want to insert the sim

If anyone is curious, I was able to trade in one a9+ to Best Buy. The model number is slightly off: SM-X218 versus SM-X210. The model listed at Best Buy for trade in is the WIFI model.

The CSR said everything was fine except the model # is slightly off so she had to go get approval, which leads me to believe this is going to be a huge YMMV.
