PSA if you try buying this through FB marketplace.

On Facebook marketplace, there is a scam going around with this coffee model. I got scammed by it 2 months ago and I still see a ton of fake listings. The scam is the seller sends your item to the wrong address intentionally and blocks you. Refunds on FB need you to send the seller a message, so they abuse this loophole and FB support doesn't help. Only way out of this is credit card chargeback.

You don't need to buy a $160 grinder for spices. I have a cheap $20 (Hamilton Beach) one and it's more than enough. I come from a culture that uses a lot of spices in cooking btw.

Does anyone know if this would be good for grinding spices as well?

I have a Breville Barista Express with the built in grinder. I typically am doing a double shot with 1 cup of steamed milk and cinnamon. Would I even notice a quality difference with something like this given the milk and cinnamon additions?

40% higher price, can't do coarse grinds, excessive static and plastic cup causes big mess, and chute gets jammed up easily. Upsides of DF54 are that it's much quieter, better build quality, and better grind consistency. Cheers.
My DF54 doesn't have any issues you mentioned...

Have the same machine as you as well as higher end Breville that uses something similar to this grinder but built in.

The taste improved though not by any huge margin. The biggest improvement was the consistency of the grind and the consistency of how much came out.

I still use my express for decaf and the inconsistency for both of those things is crazy (particularly the amount of ground coffee that comes out).

To;Dr: taste yes but barely noticeable. Ground amount consistency, definitely yes.

Plot twist: the encore also has static and messy cup issues.

I'm wondering how useful the little espresso grind cup is going to be, given the way my older encore works.
I've seen some YouTubers just spritz a tiny bit of water to rid of static. Would that work here or just clog it?
