I just did a chat to get my question answered. Chat was a real person, and came on quick on a Saturday morning, btw.

Monthly promotion rate is not locked in for renewal. Agent said, "plans may change and also we can have better plans than this in future."

Also I learned that this uses Verizon network.

I had to file an FCC complaint just to get my number out of Lyca. Will never deal with them again.

I got the 10gb a month data unlimited talk/text plan. $160 with taxes. I had red pocket probably last five years or so, but it's now $240 a year for the ten gb data plan, same one....Infinimobile uses verizon towers, I just got a completely different number because I didn't care about keeping mine, just took me 45 minutes to change my number in all my apps and stuff.

Indeed Lyca is the worst. We spent several hours getting them to reveal account number and pin so we could port out my wife's number. They also blocked her for almost a month during her 6 month prepaid package because they said she made too many phone calls (on an unlimited plan).

Wow. Just wow. That's no way to treat a paying customer. But word always gets out and these companies find themselves struggling from their own self destruction. A bad reputation, once established, is impossible to fix. The heads up is much appreciated, from both of you.

How do you like Infimobile's service so far? Any issues? We all get a little uptight dealing with companies that aren't well known.

I haven't had any issues yet, red pocket I remember basically every year after that first month, my data would run out and it wouldn't be renewed the next month, so I'd have to talk to customer service. They'd fix it but it was still annoying. I'm just done paying $240 a year for service, if I can get it for $160. I could get away with 5 gb of a data month too if I wanted it, probably even 3. Next year i'll look for an even better deal but was kinda at the last minute now.

I know. Of course we always have to realize that companies usually don't make any (or much) profit on superhot intro offers like these. They may even be losing money.

Marketeers hope to outsmart consumers by making it up on upsells or renewals. That's how they think: Always, always "how can I outsmart consumers, so they think they're getting a good deal, but it's really I who am getting the better deal".

As deal-seekers we are trying to outsmart the marketeers. It's how WE think.

So we shouldn't be surprised when marketeers decide to try to get rid of us as soon as they realize the prey they caught in their trap is one that bites.

A (very) few companies found a model where they can sustainably offer genuinely good prices relatively to their products and service. They don't play this marketeers' outsmarting game, at least not as hard (still need new customers, everybody does). But they are rarely the ones with superhot unicorn deals.

This InfoMobile offer sounds sweet for those with a Verizon compatible phone, particularly at the Amazon price. I don't know the company, but I will be surprised if they can sustain it through renewals. But that's OK as long as they still play nice when customers try to leave at the end of the intro deal.

I recently ported over to US Mobile, and one of the reasons I did was that the deal wasn't introductory, but their regular price. So far I'm tickled with the service, and the 70% reduction in my bill was a shocker. Service quality is as good as what I had before with another Verizon MVNO, and the free month was a nice bonus. My old carrier was very courteous and professional about giving me account number and pin after 7 years with them. As a courtesy, I told them why I was switching and gave them the opportunity to offer a similar deal because otherwise they've been great. The rep told me that wasn't possible in their system, so we parted ways on good terms. 7 years ago when I signed up with them, their rate was stellar. Now it's kinda high by market standards, and they haven't tried hard enough to keep up with their competition's prices.

Hmm, mine charges $4.91 tax. I guess it's different from state.

I got this around a month ago. Porting over was painless. The speeds are for sure throttled, but I haven't had issues with it so far. Seems like every other MVNO I have used. I am in a pretty rural area though.

The only issue I have had is getting MMS to work on Android. It still doesn't work after chatting with customer service twice and adding all of the APNs several times. They have "Escalated" my problem to technical support but that was a while back.

Verizon MVNO, so I'm guessing GSM phones won't work with this service?

Is this company safe for portingout? Don't want to risk my number
Nowadays with the esim option on iphones, i keep my main # on 1 line that has low data and the 2nd esim for promo deals that have high data for 6months like this or mint mobile. Then with both sims, set your cellular data to the esim. I just let number expire at 6months w/o renewing.

EDIT: Of course your iphone has to be unlocked though to do this.
