On the PS5 or XBOX, your consoles are "region" specific. Everything you do is based on that region such as costs etc. No matter matter where you are in the world, your console plays by that regions rules if you made an account in that region. Now you can get cheap spiderman 2 game keys for JAPAN and share it with your american accoun. PS5 account that is made in the japanese region w/ a vpn... you can redeem it. You technically own it but in reality, no one really owns anything digital.

XBOX is also way better in this regard than the PS5.

Yea, I know how it works on Xbox, and agree the pricing over there is insanely better. With regard to Ps, I only recently picked one up, so still learning the ins/outs of the system. So I don't have a clue how the actual process works on PS. Been trying to track down like a bullet point guide haha

Create a new user on your PS5 and choose Japan region.
Redeem the jp code you bought. Google translate helps to navigate the japanese menus.
Turn on game sharing.
Switch back to your US user and the game will be available.

I didn't have to use a VPN at all... the vpn might be blocked by sony. Just open a private browser. All done without VPN and google translate extension within your brower... you'll be all goooood.

$8.97 here, wonder why these keys are so cheap in that particular region. Consoles dont sell well beyond the Swith, but japanese consumers wont pay more than $10 for this particular game? Maybe its better to not think about it and just be happy with a sub $10 Spiderman 2 haha.

I added a jp account to my PS5 and successfully downloaded the game. Not sure how to share it. Console game sharing is enabled but when I change to my normal profile it is asking me to purchase the game (says view product). What's wrong here?

IT WORKED! It just wasnt finished downloading..once it finished I was able to play it from my own profile immediately. BIG THANKS!
