We drink a lot of carbonated water in our family and got tired of spending money for the tiny tanks. I have an adapter from Amazon (or eBay, can't remember) to use my own food grade CO2 tank. I had it filled twice in about 5 years for about 40 bucks each time. Cost of the tank plus the first fill is almost the price of this whole set, but the tank will last you years, especially if you don't drink a lot.
From what I understand there are two types of connections on the soda streams, the quick connect adapter like this one has and a threaded one. There are standard hose connections and then upgrades like braided hoses and gauges. US tanks threads are typically CGA320 and euros are W21.8-14. Links below. I got the exact same one on Amazon from aliexpress and saved a few bucks. I fill my tanks at a local brewery or the welding supply which offers beverage grade co2. 5lb tanks cost ~$85 filled and refills are ~$25 near me in ATL. When you go to get them refilled they just swap the tank with a filled one. Make sure you also have a c02 alarm in the house in case of a leak.
Yes, please share the adapter and co2 tank you bought? Where did you purchase the food grade canister and where do you get it filled? I read somewhere you can use dry ice somehow but not sure how that works.
For the dry Ice you weigh it out. You open the borrow, place it on the scale, tare it, then add in how ever many grams your bottle holds in dry ice, then seal it with the cap/lid/valve and let it come to room temperature. Seems slow enough, I've never done it seems too tedious because you have to break the dry ice down to really small bits in order for it to fit inside the tiny hole. But it's an option for ya. Good luck.
Where do u guys buy the replacement tanks?
since BBBY closed I have no clue where to get the refills
Target! I just took one to get replaced a few weeks ago. It was $15 or so. (BBBY use to just hand me the replacement without the exchange when I did curbside pickup. I guess it was because I paid online.)

I have one of these and while it works, I'm not certain how great the non-screw bottle connector is. Mine definitely hisses when I use it and it's hard to tell if that's appropriate, a leak, etc.
I think it's a pressure relief mechanism to prevent overfilling and having it explode everywhere when you remove it (not that I ever did that with the old style).
I have the old kind of soda stream with the blue-tipped screw in necks. Is there something different now about the pink-tipped bottles? Is it an improvement?
The pink connector is patented to keep you from drilling a hole in a piece of thrift store furniture and adapting a braided stainless hose from the Sodastream on top to a 10-lb CO2 cylinder underneath while leaving the tank valve easily accessible.
Edit: It doesn't look like the patent protection is having that much success. I'd personally use a regulator on the tank instead of trusting the hose, but I'm already in the paintball tank / transfill ecosystem, which I do not recommend to anyone.
Just bought one.
I don't like soda as it's too much sugar this will definitely help.
Just two QQ.. Those who are already using it.
1. Do we know how much CO2 to be added in like half liter water or liter of water?
2. As others are informed here we can get it refilled in Target, is Target the only source? Also can I get ginger ale flavor somewhere to use with this?

I use 2 presses for the provided bottles, 1 for small bottles. You can get refills direct from Soda Stream online if you want - there are options (they even include free USPS shipping pickup).
Flavors are available at many major stores as well as AMZ, Walmart online etc. I tried the Ginger Ale & wasn't impressed, but happy with product overall. Will likely take a little trial & error to find what is best for you.
