Thinking of upgrading for the occasional times I want to mess with espresso and selling the old one

I'm really interested in the DF54, but it's pretty apparent that the "Turin" branding is just reseller (Espesso Outlet) labeling, to try to make it sound vaguely Italian (which is silly, it would at least be called "Torino" if that was really the case). You can find plenty of DF40, DF64 on aliexpress, under various branding.
The support related reviews for the Turin brand on their own site (Espresso Outlet) are abyssmal. Some of them sound like a case of not knowing how to calibrate/etc, but equally… why wouldn't even just the reseller at least be able to manage telling people how to do that? There's videos on aliexpress about it for the df40, for instance. That's… scary bad levels of support. Multiple reviews claim the ionizer doesn't work at all. Some of the aliexpress vendors for df line grinders say you might get one unit or the other depending on stock, and makes you wonder if people are even getting what's claimed with these US df resellers.
So yeah… personally I'd wait out the DF stuff for a bit longer and see how it pans out. There's already another US reseller for the DF54. Then probably just order directly from China once it's available through one of the big aliexpress sellers. Meanwhile this deal here is a great price for a Baratza ESP. If I didn't already have two Encores with one modded, I'd probably just snag one now. I'm still tempted lol. Must… resist D:
If I didn't already have my upgraded Encore, I'd definitely grab this one.

That's weird I've run pounds through for espresso and it works perfect, I guess you just aren't capable of using it.
It is rated as the best super budget and I agree, I've been using daily many times since 2020 without any issues.

To me it is a company purpose driven for people making quality coffee at home vs a company that makes products across various products, of which coffee is a small piece of.
To me $20 across how long you will be using these is not much time at all.
I would really look at how you are brewing coffee - what are you using? If it is specialty equipment or more importantly you are making espresso - then I would say make the switch to Baratza. If not, or it just isn't that important to you, then a mass produced grinder probably will work for you.
I use a Technivorm at my house and have never regretted my decision to move to a Baratza grinder.
Let me jump off my coffee soap box now I could do this all day and have a meeting in 2 hours I need to prep for.
