Yeah I'm surprised by the downvotes.
Obviously this thing is over priced for what it is, especially compared to the PS5 upgrade path. But, this is still a good deal for those needing more native storage for Series games. There are no other options.
This is slickdeals, downvotes are common because they're free.

Correct....Most mouth breathers here have no idea how Xbox storage works...Is it expensive by comparison? Sure, but no other storage option allows installation of current gen titles.... Downvotes can COPE, lmao

Agreed. This is my only complaint on the Series X/S hardware.

Thank you for the constructive criticism. How is this post "newb bs"? What did I do wrong? How can I improve it?
They don't understand it's the expansion card that costs a ton more than a regular ssd. Your title could be improved describing it as an xbox expansion card.

Explanation will not curb the ignorance....These mouth breathers would have downvoted Einstein's Theory of Relativity...

Honestly, by not responding. Dude is likely a troll, or too ignorant to research things to realize these things have never been the same prices as standard nvme 2tb ssds for pcs. And that this price is a great deal considering.

I am so damn disappointed in the price of these. I have been waiting for a year to jump on a good drop and nothing has come up except that amazing Target clearance sale and I missed that by like two days. I was so mad. I finally just bit the bullet on one of these at But I haven't opened it yet, I am thinking about returning it.

This price is super high and Xbox has also been a let down in the last year or so overall, I don't know if I feel good about keeping this at this price, might just take it back and hope to get something cheaper one day still.
I'm not sure about the full grasp of the defenders of this price, what they say are true, but the price was manipulated to stay high by Microsoft. There was a third party who came up with a cheap solution (an adapter that allows you to use standard M.2 nvme) that worked in the slot but eventually was rendered useless with updates. If the proprietary is so awesome, then why feel threatened by alternatives? The speed difference doesn't justify the technology. If Apple was sued for their closed ecosystem, so should situations like this of Microsoft.

In short, everyone is right but there are more to the picture than what meets the eye. The prices of these are ridiculously high and shouldn't be, if they allowed competing options. Even with WD there wasn't any real competition, price remained the same (like, non-compete clause?). This was the biggest disappointment of Xbox, as it makes no sense. Without space how are we suppose to buy games in a digital age that THEY have been promoting? It's like going grocery shopping without a cart. Just handing out baskets and say if u want a better experience with a cart pay for one or its usage. Like, do u want customers to spend money? Provide us what's needed to purchase digital games.

I would buy this if it was under $200. This or WD. I hear WD is slighter better, faster. If one had the choice. Also, there has been recertified 1tb from WD for $119.
