It sure is, but that's its only advantage. There's a very good reason it's cheaper.
Thanks OP, been waiting for these to go on sale.

Note that WD and BHPhoto are both selling for this price as well minus the $10 coupon, in case you don't want to deal with Newegg. WD offers a 64GB Sandisk USB 3.2 drive as a gift with your order.

In for one. I am inpatient and need the space. I will end up picking up 4 more, but waiting for the next Red Pro sale.

These have been great for me from the WD deal, but they are occasionally a bit loud when writing.

only issue is is sold by newegg. I hear that their customer service is going downhill.

I have a bunch of these in a storage server. Great drives. Like most HDDs they make noise when they are working, but no more noise than the WD black in the desktop right next to me.

Anyone who says "When this drive dies you lose a bunch" need to learn about how to properly store data and have redundancy and backups.

Do you mind sharing your use case for that much storage? Have you ever considered purchasing refurb disks for a considerable discount on $/TB?

Has any1 tried signing up for email and text for western digital? It says you can get an additional 10% off. Not sure if there are any exclusions though.
