Yes it will. ExtraBucks need to be used all at once. If you pay $0.98 using the $5 EB, the remaining $4.02 EB is lost. It's best to spend the remainder on another deal (preferably one that gives you more EB) in the same transaction as the toothpaste so that you waste as little of your EB as possible. This thread for this week's deals might help.

No, you can't use Extra Bucks to buy gift cards.

Can this be done in-store?
Yes, just make sure you add the coupon to your account and use your membership ID. Toothpaste is also on sale in-store for $3.99.

Beware of CVS. I think I joined extracare 2 years ago (they said it is free) and every month they started deducting 5$ from my card (I used my card only for purchases, and didnt give it anywhere else in CVS website). After 60$ were deducted, I caught on and asked them what it is and they said that they cant refund the amount.

FYI: all of these have sodium fluoride and not stannous fluoride. What's the difference between the two? "Stannous fluoride provides severe protection against plaque, bacteria, and tooth protection. It also gives the required cavity protection. In contrast, sodium fluoride only helps in the defense against the cavity."

Sounds like you signed up for ExtraCare (Plus) which includes extra savings, free same day delivery and free shipping. It's $5 a month or $48 a year.

I've read some evidence that says stannous fluoride is slightly more effective than sodium fluoride at preventing gum disease.

However, my Colgate Total stannous fluoride toothpaste lists the following under "Other information":

● products containing stannous fluoride may produce surface staining of the teeth. Adequate toothbrushing may prevent these stains which are not harmful or permanent and may be removed by your dentist.
● this Colgate product is specifically formulated to help prevent staining.

So take that warning and mollification as you will.
