Under Settings > Account > Google Voice number, make sure to 'Unlock'
Account # is your GV phone #
Pin you have to create in your GV account settings by toggling on "Call to listen" under voicemail settings.

Based on info in this thread as well as info found on google, it is recommended to use google's address if you are porting a GV number and are asked for an address when providing port info for your 'old carrier':

Once activated, Text UNLOCK to 611611 (send it twice, it wont work first time) to confirm your unlock date. (approx. 60 days) The unlock is automatic and sent from apple servers. And it will unlock from anywhere in the world.

YMMV, you can activate your phone on tracfone.com with new number directly to bypass port in requirement and the cost is $10 But please be reminded, after you input the imei on tracfone.com, you prepaid balance for your total-by-verizon will be lost and your phone will be rebrand to tracfone and you can't activate it on total-by-verizon wihout rebranding it back to total-by-verizon

Chase 15% Offer Details (YMMV / Targeted)
NOTE - this deal is YMMV / Targeted. I have several chase credit cards, but the offer only appears on 2 of the cards.
1) Log into chase.com account
2) Accounts tab -> (top left of screen)
3) On the right hand side of the screen you will see a "Chase offers" panel, click it
4) Top right corner there is a "choose account" drop down. If you have multiple chase cards, you will have to cycle through all of them and check the deals below that appear. not all of them will have the Verizon offer (hence YMMV)
5) If you see "Total by Verizon" deal then click on the "+" to add the offer to your card. NOTE - Remember which card you added it to (i.e the last 4 digits of the card)
When checking out on TotalByVerizon.com, use the Chase credit card that you added the offer to, to pay for the phone.
You will get an email notification a few days later, if successful (Subject "Congrats! You've successfully redeemed one of your Chase Offers")

I had an iPhone 11 up until 2023 and the main issue was that the chip would get crazy hot. Battery was also affected by that

*Update wasn't working last night but worked this morning. I used my GV number not unlocked yet to get verification text for one, and my own phone number for the second one (a verizon number still worked).
As mentioned, add a line, select $50 plan, select another iphone 11. $193 after tax.
I had bought two tmobile numbers but couldn't get verification text so did above to get past it and purchase like people mentioned. I expect when I get the phones and follow the procedures to port I can use the purchased numbers for port.
$100 for these is still a good deal. Got theses from metro last time and took 6 months to unlock but I didn't need them right away. now they're both gone, to family members, for trade in, resell. They will be worth more than $100 for sure. I'd do it again for more, and do it for the 12 if it was the same price. For $60 more, the 12 is not twice the phone if I needed a back up, and it definately not twice the trade in value. Verizon often has the promo for $800 on a new iphone, last time I did it they were still taking the 11 for that and likely will take it for that for one or two more new iphone versions. One time they took all the way back to an iphone 6 and I salty I had sold it.

You don't need to have the number unlocked for the purchase to go through, but you do to activate it once received.
If your order ships out then you can pay $3 later to GV to have number unlocked for porting -- you'll need the number unlocked before you try to activate service once your order comes in
Also, will I need 60 days of service for unlock or it will unlock after 60 days even with 1 month of service?

After your CURRENT phone stops working, insert the SIM card into your NEW phone.
I'm porting over a GV line, got an email from GV for the unlock request/paid the $3 unlock. Now I wait for GV to be ported over but how do I know when that's complete? Will I get an email saying the transfer is complete? Or do I just have to keep checking if my GV works or not?
