After entering the existing number during the activation process on their website, how long does it take the phone to be able to make and receive calls? Right now, I see 0 signal bar next to battery.

Before this post, I decided to shutdown the phone to start again which I've done yesterday. Right after I finished this phone, the phone got activated and I'm able to make calls. It sucks to have no service at all during the porting. I have a feeling if I did this last evening then it might have worked too. I would shutdown and restart after 3 hours from very first step of activation then repeat hourly until it's done.

Now I"m worried that I received a text message with unlocking policy which led to Tracfone's unlocking policy stating it needs to be active for 12 months. Can anyone confirm this?

https://www.tfwunlockpolicy.com/wps/portal/home

I hope this will apply.
"For all cellphones activated with new TracFone service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically, sixty (60) days after activation."

"For cellphones activated with new service on the Verizon network on or after November 23, 2021, at least sixty (60) days must have elapsed since the cellphone was activated. For any active cellphones, notification of the phone's unlock eligibility will be sent via SMS along with a link to the website where the unlock process can be accessed."

Btw, after the activation, can I remove the SIM and use the 1 month of service on a different phone? I don't feel like want to start using this right away.

For anyone that traded in their phones to Apple, can we still use the sim card phone plan on an existing unlocked iphone? Shame to let two months go to waste.

Don't worry … it's a 60 day unlock and been confirmed on many of these threads.

Can anyone confirm if Total/Verizon charges sales tax on...
1) the $50 plan only?
2) the $249 iPhone 11 pre-discount price only?
3) both the $50 and $249 prices?

This can be a big factor in out of pocket price. Thanks!

The sales tax was calculated on the $49 price for the phone and $50 for the plan.

plus you get charged whatever your state requires for cell service on the plan - some states are much higher than others. Oregon has no sales tax but I still have to pay tax on cell service.

I am in Calif. For the phone, the regular sales tax rate was charged but they used a different rate for the plan which is lower than my sales tax rate.

Plan is charged cell service fees not sales tax, search Google for current state rates

Now that I bought 4 of these phones, the offers show up on my Chase cards.
Do you mind sharing how you got 4? I thought its only 2 per household?
