The iPhone 11 is very old at this point, I wouldn't recommend anything older than the iPhone 12.

I had an iPhone 11 up until 2023 and the main issue was that the chip would get crazy hot. Battery was also affected by that

I was using an iPhone 11 like 6 months ago and it was behaving totally fine. Disagree that it's not usable right now, and the battery life will be right up there with the 12 whose battery life was natively poor.

Disagree here.

Apple provides super-long support timeframes compared to the Android world.

iPhone 11 is slated to get iOS 18 and will probably get another couple years of security updates past that.

Still a decent, usable phone.
I think they are supported for 5 years which means next year they are up and will become a security liability as they won't be supported anymore.

Multiple iPhone 11 users in this house with no problems and get great battery life with no overheating issues. Best part-if it does need replacing-way cheaper to get another 11 and save myself the $1k from a newer phone.

For many people who use the phone to just talk/text/pictures it does perfectly fine-no need to spend more when you need less. Take the older generation…my parents use the previous model because frankly the new tech is hard for them to grasp and thus wasted.

If you were already on Verizon, can you do this deal?

Incredible that there are still NIB Iphone 11s around. Pretty good deal.
Apple still makes many of the older phones specifically for the prepaid market.

iPhone 12 set to dark mode is similar to iPhone 13 in non dark mode. But 11 doesn't have an OLED screen but lcd screen so dark mode won't make a difference.

again, some people just dont care about chip speed, because they dont do anything that needs that speed. for those people the 11 is pretty much the best option. but most of the world has crossed that point. for better or worse. and for those people the 5 yr old iPhone 11 chip will not work.

The iPhone7 is still getting security updates on iOS 15.

Unlike Android devices, which are updated for a specified number of years after release, Apple doesn't do it that way.

Apple devices are updated based on their version of iOS - if your iOS version has a security update, you get it. Since the iPhone 11 will probably get iOS 18, it should get security updates for a few years beyond that, as it will get them until Apple stops patching iOS18.

But you can pay 60$ more for the iPhone 12 and get the OLED XDR display, and the newer design, and not to mention better chip. I think the 11 is better than most 200-300$ Android phones, but I would highly recommend spending the extra 60$ on the 12
Comparing this to a $200-$300 android is pretty fair, since if you can find a new unlocked iPhone11, it's probably around $200-$300.

But, I'd say that's definitely a judgement call. A new $300 midrange android (like a Samsung a35, a54, or a34) is going to have newer tech, be supported longer, have a bigger screen, and pretty comparable performance. You'll probably also get SD card support, since midrange androids usually have it.

The apple will have better privacy, camera, and have the word "apple" making people think your are more creative and enlightened.

There are cases to be made for or against both devices, and it probably just comes down to which you prefer. Both will be fine for general use, and won't be fine for heavy processing or intense gaming.

If you want, you can I think fairly compare it to this other similar Total by Verizon deal for the a54 (which I just bought):

He has a screen that works in 2 halves with a band across the middle so not upgradable
We have a family plan with Verizon, could I buy this, port his number over, use it for a while then upgrade him back onto the family plan?

Anyone able to port out of OOMA. I have it since 15+ years now and it was totally free on their old device, which finally died. Any new device now has the minimum landline charges so I thought I will try to port it.
