The iPhone 11 is very old at this point, I wouldn't recommend anything older than the iPhone 12.

I had an iPhone 11 up until 2023 and the main issue was that the chip would get crazy hot. Battery was also affected by that

I was using an iPhone 11 like 6 months ago and it was behaving totally fine. Disagree that it's not usable right now, and the battery life will be right up there with the 12 whose battery life was natively poor.

Nope, big display is no good with slow chip
its a slower chip but not a slow chip. it'll be fine. I had the 11 for 2 years as a work phone. I put it through the wringer and it was fine until i filled the 64Gb. i was using it for google suite, podcasts, media stream, emails, pictures/videos. the larger screen makes it more functional. Good luck pulling up a spreadsheet on the se3

I read the posts and the unlock policy. Still confused with unlock policy.

Is this understanding correct?

* Buy the phone for $50 with first month plan of $50.
* Don't pay for the 2nd month.
* It will get automatically unlocked after 60 days of activation to be used on any other carrier.
Yes, that is correct. I've done it before with four SE3's.

It accepted my Google voice number. You just have to pay the $3 fee to Google to unlock it so you can Port it out. It took almost a full day for the port to complete.
I get this error when checking my GV number "We couldn't validate your number at this moment, please try again later." How are you able to validate your GV # with Total?

Anyone used this trade in at apple store for $200 off. If you are buying new iPhone 15, you get it for $90 less.

Thanks for the heads up... I had already bought myself an iPhone SE3 when they went on sale for $100 this past Black Friday. Would that be more preferable compared to the iPhone 11 considering it has an A15 Bionic chip in it?
There are usually a lot of opinions on both sides, but it's basically going to come down to personal preference. I pretty much always have a couple of phones around. Right now, I have an SE 3 and a 12 (an 11 before that). The SE 3 is my preferred phone and my 11 / 12 pretty much just sits on my desk as a backup device because I much prefer the smaller size and fingerprint ID. However, I also do most of my web browsing on an iPad while phone is mostly for calls / texts / maps / apps … the equation would probably change for someone constantly using their phone for photo / video content.

Yes, Apple will take locked phones for trade in -- I've traded in the locked MetroPCS iPhone 11's to them for Apple GCs so phones from Total will also be fine

You're better off getting it cheaper from Metro if trading in

And at this price it's still decent for a few months, then unlock and sell - or just use as a trade in.

I've sold several refurb 11's thanks to previous TF rewards and cheap deals, a flawless/new 11 will be worth more to sell than what you're paying for this.

That's how I use my phone, with some YT and web browsing. Anything more I just use my MacBook Pro

is your 11 old? the performance degrades when the battery is low. Never forget batterygate 2016

It is a possibility, I had an 11 which had 80% capacity, so I upgraded to a 12. SAME ISSUE, and it has 100% battery health. I think it's Apple doing it on purpose

Depends on your use case. Is this a backup phone or will this be your daily driver?

Chip speed is neglible in my opinion, as the 11 is plenty fast enough. I'd opt for the 11 over the SE3. The 11 has a larger battery life, screen, and better cameras. The SE3 has better one-handed feel, lightweight, 5G.
