I bought these last week and they're just as comfortable as the regular, non-golf pair! They're not waterproof though.

The bottoms have these firm rubber treads on them that help to grip the grass. They're not spikes, and they don't protrude, but they do enough to help a bunch.

Foot will be soaked if there's rain. Only useful in dry weather.

Isn't this true of most athletic footwear? I suppose you can treat them with waterproofing spray.

Slick price for women, not really for men IMHO. Not waterproof. Spikeless shoes.

I've purchased the adidas ones that come up here fairly often for $30 and I've been very happy with them as spikeless non-waterproof shoes. Wouldn't spend 50 on them. $60 can buy you Puma cable laced shoes on ebay, $70 can buy you Spiked puma cable laced shoes on ebay...

I'm taking golf lessons soon, first time playing. What's the big deal about waterproof or not? You don't expect to play in rain or get wet do you?

Rain and sprinklers. Grass is always wet on a golf course.

Waterproofing matters when you start playing on courses. Early morning mildew and wet/muddy conditions from recent rain are what to be concerned about. I have these Roshes and they are solid for practice and dry weather play.

I have the older version of these and they are comfortable. Its also nice to wear for a quick errand before or after the range.
