I have this and installed one back in 2018. Still runs fine. It comes with a 10 year warranty is what I was told by the rep over the phone even though the box said 7 year warranty.

For sure. Especially if you need one that's this powerful but still slim.

Good Lord that thing's tall. It looks about 4 or 5 in taller than a normal disposal

Motor is powerful but due to its narrower design, the water flow is not smooth. draining takes longer timer

Has anyone installed this as a direct wire? I only have a electric box under the sink. No outlet

Just a bit of trivia, my understanding is there are basically only two manufacturers of all the brand of garbage disposals - Insinkerator and Waste King (aka Anaheim Manufacturing). Moen now owns Anaheim Manufacturing and also owns the American Standard brand, and this is basically a Waste King OEM brand.

I currently have a Moen-branded version of this bullet style, so also a Waste King OEM. Interestingly, both this American Standard deal and the Moen that I have use the Insinkerator flange mount, rather than the native Waste King one. Which merely means it's slightly easier to replace an existing Insinkerator disposal, and slightly more work if you're replacing a Waste King or one of its OEM brands....

You can. Look at the instructions manual link on Costco's site. All disposals that come with a plug can convert to hardwire. You basically unscrew the bottom, remove the wire nuts and free the plug cable, feed in your direct wire power, and attach to the leads with the wire nuts. If you want to get real fancy with it you can use that hardwire lead to install an outlet under your sink. But there are some code compliance rules you have to follow so check those if you go that route.
