Out of curiosity, what Govee products (model codes) have you owned that make you say this? The experience of most people here has been the opposite.

💯 agree. I have been super pleased with govee products, both indoor and out. My govee lynx dream outdoor lights have weathered the storm and then some. When I go to the app/use their products..they simply work, every time. And at the right price point..they can not be beat. Thanks for the post 👍

Correct me if I'm wrong but Govee has two different floor lamps. This one and the Lyra. It's my understanding that the Lyra is the recommended of the two … and to avoid this posted lamp.

Do you have to be in the Govee ecosystem to use this floor lamp?
You just need the app nothing else

I've got 2 Lyras in my family room and they're great.

My ONLY complaint is dimming doesn't work great with HomeKit integration…

their product may be affordable, but their API for using their Wi-Fi services is completely unreliable. I've had, both, my Home Assistant connection and the Alexa skill completely break for extended periods.

if you're interested in the Wi-Fi capability: stay away from Govee.
So I'm on the other side of this... bought 3x permanent roof lights back on thanksgiving and integrated with HA and it's been flawless. I also added 2x of their flood lights back in January. And even tied it with Hue recessed BR30 bulbs. Colors doesnt exactly match with Hue but unless its the holidays, I usually keep it at 3000k and have dimmed.

It's been on every night since then and have it tied to motion sensor (so random on/off throughout the evening). And its been working as expected.

I dont use the app unless its the for holiday colors (they have nice scenes which cant replicated on HA). Otherwise automations and controls are handled through HA.

Tempted on getting this for my first indoor govee...

Your thought process is complete mush.

You're getting down on them for... advertising?

None of their products are "knockoffs"... who do you think they're mimicking?

As for tracking, get real. Your basement isn't that interesting.

Look at their boxes…they are absolutely ripping off the design of Philips Hue products.

There are other realistic concerns in this thread that people are voicing and they are getting downvoted into oblivion. The Govee shills are out in full force.

I don't have a basement. I would absolutely like one though.

So you believe that companies do not sell user data?

Agree.

However Hue is so overpriced for what it is. Good to have alternatives for those of us that can't spend 1000s on lighting.

bought a refurb T2 last week, they had an option to add the lyra version for like $80 or $89. so i did. it was like $200 for both.

so far the lyra is nice. no issues. i mainly use it with the included remote, not the app (just easier for my use).

the T2 has been great. so far company seems quality. app is NOT half baked, has a lot of features. if i had a place to put it, i would get this light as well.
Out of curiosity, why are you getting one of each instead of two of each? They really pop when you have two- one on each side of a bed/dress/tv...

Not using them together. The floor lamp is in my bedroom, T2 is on the living room tv.

Absolutely not.

Govee's marketing campaigns are pretty aggressive for their knockoff merchandise.

Their products are lackluster, but marketed as though they are extraordinary.

It is cheap junk used to map out your home via its intrusive app. Just say no.
MAP OUT YOUR HOME that's a little extreme don't u think

Just checked. It's around $20 average. All these are made in the same China factories and they just slap different brand names on them based on the seller.
