For JA3 just think keyboard and mouse works better. It also has a lot of mods, new characters, guns etc. and with Steam you can add and delete mods with a button click, it's great.

I prefer the PC for isometric strategy games like XCom or JA3, especially if I want to play with mods. I think I modded every character model and voice in XCom, plus added some weapons and gameplay mods. I didn't use many mods in JA3 though.
