I like EV's a lot (currently own 2)… rented a Polestar 2 for a week while traveling and really hated it. Felt super small inside and did not make good use of the interior space like most other EV's do. We had heard good things about Polestars and were surprised how much we didn't like it. It was such a treat to return home to our Bolt EUV.

No where does it state that the 2k is off the down payment. It's going to be off the MSRP which makes this luke warm deal at best. Need to see proof. Calling the dealer leaves it up to them to decide. Calling Costco might help clarify.
Actually, it does. The terms state that the lease is based on MSRP plus and minus some things. One of those things is a $3000 cap cost reduction. That's where the $3000 down payment is coming from. So if you take $2000 off the MSRP, you are doing a $2000 cap cost reduction. As you only need to do a total cap cost reduction of $3000, that leaves $1000 that you would pay out of pocket. So you are reducing your down payment by $2000.

Huh even the new fsd is shit. Idk how you say you had a great experience unless it was all straight line freeway driving. This is no where near autonomous level yet unless you like 12 year olds driving the car. I hope you're getting paid to shill at least
Calling it shit is subjective, but...I can see that.

Why? It's more effort to supervise FSD than not. I don't see the point in buying FSD unless you plan on it driving you while intoxicated, and that's a bad idea.

What is the mileage/year limited to though?
Check again. I saw the leases on Hyundai's site earlier today.

My process…I searched the dealer, then sorted by cheapest to highest. It showed me 2 options with the exact MSRP that is shown for the lease deal. I clicked on that vehicle and scrolled down. Change the payment from purchase to lease. It should show the lease offer price. $299/mo and $3k down. Continue to purchase, and enter all your info. Once you get all your info put in, the next page will show you your real pricing based on address. Taxes and fees. Turns out it's cheaper for me to buy from Los Angeles than Scottsdale. Still about $2700 due at signing after the Costco bonus.

Shows you don't even know what you're talking about.

New FSD isn't even on the freeway. Freeway still uses the older v11.

"Nowhere near autonomous."
Never said it was. But it's a fact that I just traveled from Midtown Manhattan to upstate NY without any disengagements.

I don't need to get paid but I'll make you a deal: If I show you a full video of me doing that exact same drive to upstate NY without any disengagements, (video of the steering wheel and windshield), how about you pay me $100 for the one month of FSD I just paid for? Deal?

Do you even or have ever used FSD? doesn't sound like you have.

Uhhh, yes. I've been investing in the EV space for nearly a decade now so I'm very well aware of what I am talking about and am not confusing Fisker (another junk EV company) with Polestar.

"Massively large company."
Geely is a massively large auto company in China but not worldwide. BYD destroys Geely, no competition. BYD does over 3x the revenue Geely does and will grow far bigger than Geely while having better vehicles for the masses.

They only did $23 billion in revenue last year. That pales in comparison to the largest automakers. Toyota, for example, did $270 billion in revenue last year.

"They're doing just fine." Again, you have no numbers to back it up, I do.
Polestar only has $700 million in cash and is constantly raising new money through debt using heavy interest to sustain their business. That's only expected to last them a year or two at best.

Their revenue is as high as their COGS. That means just labor and materials to build the car is how much they're selling the vehicle for. No gross profit. Add in selling and operating costs and they're burning $200 million every quarter minimum.

They're unlikely to be profitable any time soon which is why Volvo reduced their holdings so that Geely can pay for it instead.

Only a matter of time before Geely realizes that Polestar is not competitive with BYD and Tesla and can't reasonably sustain the business.

Their vehicles are also priced at a premium at a time where EV sales are declining currently.

I'll give them 5 years before their company has going concern issues. Right now they're in a stage, like many other EV makers, where they have they are too deep into it to quit. Rivian and LUCID are two other companies. Can't and won't be profitable any time soon. Fisker is dead on arrival. Who else do we need to talk about here?
Serious question, what do you think the mid to long term outlook for Rivian, the stock has halved since start of the year. Is it a good place to look at it under $10 (it was at 120 in Nov 2021).

I spoke with the dealer today and they told me the 2k from Costco just comes off the total price of the car and will adjust the monthly lease payment down 20ish/mo. I specifically asked if I could use it to offset the $5,200 out the door ($3k down +1st mo + taxes/dealer fees) and they said that is not how it works. Would like one but $5200 out the door is a lot.
Yeah, this post stating $1000 down is incorrect.

Why is Polestar available for sale in US and not BYD?
I watch https://youtube.com/@Wheelsboy and would totally buy a BYD over Tesla.

I can see why Elon makes sure they are banned here.

I can see why BYD is beating Tesla outside of the USA.

This is what I see for Delaware:

Due at signing
First Monthly Payment
$283.68
Registration Fee
$75.00
Delaware Doc @ 4.25%
$1,985.00
Documentation Fee
$699.00
Tax On Fees
$29.71
Down payment
$3,000.00
Tax on Rebate, Trade-in and Down Payment
$59.74
Sales Tax (1.99%)
$1,985.00
Due At Signing
$6,132.13

Per the website a Delaware resident is being asked to pay Delaware 'sales tax' (the 4.25% DE doc fee) plus NJ sales tax... Maybe that's not the case in person. But wow. The above is for 27 months with 7500 miles.

Actually disregard the extra tax line. Looks like it's just re-stating the Delaware Doc fee.
