It is impossible to overstate the importance of measuring everything accurately before you pull the trigger on this purchase. These generally only go in one orientation relative to your garage ceiling, for example, and you'll need spacing to be dead on for it to work at all.

Do you have a floor above your garage? Should be fine in that case. Last time I looked into these if you have roof above your garage and it uses engineered trusses then these are pretty much a no go as the trusses aren't meant for that kind of load.

After nearly packing and putting over a dozen big boxes like that, I wonder when will one take it all out to get an item and put back all of that again. It defeats the time saving? Don't get me wrong I would love to have someone else do it for me! 🤓

Can these be mounted if ceiling joists in garage were engineered as "non-load bearing" ?

Ceiling joists, at most, are designed for their own self weight and light storage loads (if covered with drywall or plywood). If you put these close to the end of the joists it will likely be fine but it's very dependent on your specific situation regarding joist size, spacing, and span.

3 years into having these I'm noticing cracks in the garage ceiling. Had them professionally installed everything should be right. In the end I just don't think ceilings were meant for these.

There is 1000% no way to describe how phenomenal these are. When installed with goods lags these have held a ton of weight for approx. 10 years now and are still perfect. Amazing space saver.

Is this a good set? I've been looking for ceiling storage for a while but deals used to be half the price they are now. How is this deal? Gray or white?

Got this set a few years back, they work very well. I bought mine right on the edge of a recall, where bolts were sheering and they were falling. They confirmed mine were not part of the recall, but it's left me cautious of having anyone near when I'm loading/unloading something. Overall I'm probably being paranoid, they are a fantastic space saver, Id buy them again.

Hit up a local structural engineer. Most likely it's fine for a certain load like 10psf or so but need a local struct to look at it.

Cracks in the drywall or the actual wood?
